The Miz Talks Elevating The WWE Intercontinental Championship, Making His Title Defense At WrestleMania The Main Event, More

"The A-Lister" says he will make his match at WrestleMania the main event.

With the birth of his baby girl and winning the Mixed Match Challenge tournament, The Miz is riding high but he will have to come down soon as his championship reign is in jeopardy. The Miz will be defending the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Seth Rollins and Finn Balor in a Triple-Threat match this upcoming Sunday at the "Show Of Shows". Speaking with Yahoo! Sports, Miz stated that he is determined to have everyone talking about his match by the end of the night.

RJ City: There’s An Old Saying That You F*ck Like You Wrestle, I Think It’s True

“Even though my match is not called the main event, I plan on making it the main event and people to talk about it for years to come, moments that last a lifetime,” The Miz told Yahoo Sports. “We have all of the components. Finn Balor and Seth Rollins, as much as I make fun of them and degrade them, they are two of the top, elite, talents in WWE.”

The Miz constantly reminds fans weekly on WWE TV that he has made the Intercontinental Title prestigious. After holding the championship eight times and closing in on having held the title for the most combined days in WWE history it can be hard to argue that statement.

“To be one of the focal points of RAW, to know that Vince, Hunter, Stephanie, Shane, that all of the execs believe in me and know that I can put out there and revolve a show around me, that my star power can bring people into an arena, make people watch at home, that is second to none,” The Miz said. “That trust, that is what you live for as a WWE superstar. I was the person that elevated that title, that made it prestigious and that was my goal. My goal was to have this title where it was when I was a kid. When Ultimate Warrior was going up against Hulk Hogan, it was the biggest match that you could see. That is where I’m taking the Intercontinental title. There is no line. It’s one of those situations where I want the fans talking about my match and I will do whatever it takes. Whatever I feel out there, it’s what’s going to happen.”

The Miz is looking to retain his title and so are the other champions who are defending theirs at WrestleMania. Click here to view the match card for Sunday's mega-show.
