MJF On AEW All Out Press Conference: A Lot Of Things Were Said, It Doesn't Concern Me

After three months away, MJF returned to AEW television at AEW All Out, revealing himself as the Joker and staring down new AEW World Champion CM Punk from the ramp.

MJF's return was the culmination of three months of radio silence from MJF where he was out of the public eye and erased from AEW's footprint after he begged to be fired on the June 1 episode of AEW Dynamite.

The return, which closed AEW All Out, was quickly overshadowed by the media scrum where CM Punk took aim at The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson), Kenny Omega, Hangman Page, and Colt Cabana. Punk's comments led to a backstage altercation between Punk, Ace Steel, the Bucks, and Omega. During the scrum, Punk also commented on MJF, saying Tony Khan wants him to "work with pricks" when asked about MJF's return.

Speaking to Ariel Helwani on the MMA Hour, MJF was asked about the media scrum.

"I cannot comment on the press conference. All I can say is this, I don't deal in rumor and innuendo. I don't want to. Here's the facts. There were a lot of things said. It doesn't apply to me, it doesn't concern me. I'll tell you why and use some numbers because numbers don't lie. Numbers are facts and facts don't care about your feelings. When MJF goes out there, I pop a huge number. We just killed it in the ratings. If people come, go, stay; people are going to step up to the plate. We have massive stars in our company. I'm not concerned in the least. I'm not going to comment on what was said because it doesn't apply to me. What I will say is, our company is great right now," he said.

When asked if the press conference overshadowed his return, MJF replied, "Did you hear the reaction the following Dynamite? Did it sound like it took anything away from MJF? Moronic marks. Mouth breathing moronic marks. They go on Twitter, 'I don't see how this is going to work. This is absolutely ridiculous.' Then I go out there, you eat your words and there is never an apology tweet. Never, 'I was wrong, MJF was right.' 'MJF got one of the loudest pops, I can't hear myself think.' No one is going to tweet that. They're just going to tweet what they think and what they think is right and accurate."

MJF noted that not only did he not get an apology from fans who were wrong about the press conference taking away from him, but he never got an apology from fans who claimed he was a bad wrestler.

MJF is not scheduled to compete at AEW Grand Slam, but does hold the Casino Ladder Match chip that gives him an AEW World Title bout at anytime. Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson will battle at AEW Dynamite Grand Slam to crown a new AEW World Champion.

Fightful will have live coverage of AEW Dynamite Grand Slam beginning at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
