Maxwell Jacob Friedman is back and he ain't fuckin' leaving.
MJF returned to AEW at AEW Double or Nothing 2024 for the first time since he lost the AEW World Title to Samoa Joe at AEW Worlds End and was betrayed by Adam Cole.
5 months later, Adam Cole was standing in the ring at Double or Nothing, letting the audience know that they would eventually be giving "The Devil" his due and that's when Maxwell Jacob Friedman returned, wearing a denim and leather jacket akin to Triple H in 2002. Max kicked Adam in the balls, dropped him with a Brainbuster, and kicked him out of the ring before addressing the audience.
Max told the audience that he's done with gimmicks like the mask and since he doesn't need gimmicks, nor does he need Vince McMahon or NJPW to make him a star because he made himself. He then called and revealed that he has a tattoo that says "Bet on Yourself" featuring the AEW casino chip logo.
He then called himself The Wolf of Wrestling and said he's not leaving AEW.
Adam Cole may be the devil, but it's time to face his demons in MJF!

Our premium Fightful Select service first reported that several sources within AEW believed that he could be coming back sooner than later, with most expecting him back in the fold by Forbidden Door in New York, if not sooner.
Now, he's back, and it's back to your regularly scheduled programming.
