The New Day Return On 8/7 WWE Raw, Defeat The Viking Raiders

It's The New Day, yes it is.

On the August 7 episode of WWE Raw, The Viking Raiders (Erik and Ivar) issued an open challenge. The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) answered the call. In doing so, both Kingston and Woods made their return to WWE TV.

Kingston had been sidelined since March with an ankle injury that required surgery. He hadn't wrestled since the February 24 episode of WWE Raw, where he defeated LA Knight. Woods had been absent since the May 15 episode of WWE Raw, where he lost to Dominik Mysterio.

Woods and Kingston showcased the tag team chemistry that has helped them capture multiple tag team titles. Though the Viking Raiders overpowered them at points, Kingston and Woods persevered and scored the win.

However, The New Day is not back in its entirety, as Big E remains sidelined after he fractured his C1 and C6 vertebrae in March 2022. He recently provided an update on his recovery. Check out his comments here.

Fightful Select first reported that Kingston and Woods were set to return on the August 7 episode of WWE Raw.

The New Day are collectively 11-time tag team champions on the main roster. Kingston and Woods began a brief run in NXT in December 2022 and won the NXT Tag Team Championship. They lost the titles to Gallus (Mark Coffey and Wolfgang) in a four-way match at NXT Vengeance Day 2023.
