Big Mike!!!
Former IWGP Intercontinental Champion Michael Elgin has been looking to get his shot at Hirooki Goto's NEVER Openweight Championship for quite some time. Over the course of the month of May Elgin was not able to get his one-on-one shot due to the constant interference of 'Suzuki Gun' member Taichi.
At 'Wrestling Dontaku' Taichi inserted himself in the competitive feud between Elgin and Goto, and a three-way match between the men was soon scheduled for NJPW's 'Dominion' event. Tonight, Michael Elgin, Hirooki Goto and Taichi clashed to determine who was going to be leaving 'Osaka Jo Hall' with the NEVER Openweight Championship.
Elgin and Goto took the fight to one another during the match while Taichi picked his spots for when he was going to enter the contest and pick apart the pieces that the other two competitors in the match made vulnerable. The end of the contest saw Big Mike overpower both Taichi and Goto. Elgin made sure the coast was clear in terms of Hirooki Goto and then proceeded to power-up Taichi for a sit-out "powerbomb" and with the three count administered by the referee Michael Elgin became the new NEVER Openweight Champion.
