Previously, Tyrus was the NWA TV Champion, he forfeited the TV Title to be inserted into this title match at NWA Hard Times 3. Now, he is the champion. Billy Corgan once praised Tyrus' work ethic upon removing Nick Aldis as the number one contender before NWA 74. Nick Aldis is now departing NWA.
Fightful will have full results from NWA Hard Times 3 after the event concludes.
