New ROH Six-Man Tag Team Champions Crowned At War Of The Worlds

Matt Taven may not have gotten his shot at the ROH Championship on the first night of the 2018 War of the Worlds tour, but he did walk out of Lowell, Massachusetts as a champion.

Taven was originally supposed to wrestle Dalton Castle for the title on the first night of the tour, but Castle arrived on the show and revealed that he is dealing with a back injury he suffered shortly after winning the title late last year. As such, Taven was not given the chance to wrestle for the title. Instead, Taven and his stablemates from The Kingdom, TK O'Ryan and and Vinny Marseglia challenged SoCal Uncensored for a match at the ROH Six-Man Tag Team titles later in the show and the three champions accepted.

As such, The Kingdom, wrestling in their second match of the night, defeated SoCal Uncensored to win back the six-man titles. Below is an excerpt of Fightful's live coverage of the match from the May 9 event

Kazarian hits the ring and he hits Marseglia with a title belt, Kazarian would then accidentally hit Daniels with the title before getting taken out. Taven catches Daniels with a frog splash for the three count.

Winners: The Kingdom (Matt Taven, TK O’Ryan & Vinny Marseglia), your new ROH 6 Man Tag Team Champions

In their first match of the night, TK O'Ryan and Vinny Marseglia wrestled Coast 2 Coast in a losing effort before bouncing back to win the ROH titles.

The Kingdom previously held the six-man titles, becoming the first team to win the six-man titles twice as they were also the inaugural champions when they won a tournament that concluded at the 2016 ROH Final Battle show. The Kingdom will now defend their new titles on night two of War of the Worlds, which take place in Toronto on May 11, wrestling Roppongi 3K (Rocky Romero, Sho and Yoh) at the event.
