The Young Bucks are not opposed to the idea of a singles match among the two brothers.
During their panel at Starrcast IV, a fan asked both Nick and Matt Jackson about the potential of the two of them wrestling each other. Both of them would admit that, not only are they actually open to the idea, but they have actually brainstormed that idea for past AEW events, but it never materialized.
Here are what both brothers had to say when they were asked about the potential matchup.
“Chances are higher for that [compared to The Young Bucks splitting up]. There’s not going to be a lame brother vs. brother storyline that you’ve seen every single year in the wrestling world. If there is a situation where a tournament we’re forced to be in [as singles wrestlers], that would be a type of situation I could see us in. You know what’s funny? Actually, the idea for ‘All In’ was that we were going to have a singles match together because we thought it was so different,” Nick said.
“We talked about it for ‘Double or Nothing’ too,” Matt said.
“Yeah, it just didn’t happen. It could happen at some point too… It wouldn’t be in a storyline situation where we would split,” Nick said.
“Right place, right time, we can tear down the house so maybe one day. I don’t know. It’s one of those tricky situations. I don’t even know if there’s any business to that. I don’t know if people want to see us wrestle each other," Matt said.
On a related note, Nick said he actually felt bad for having to miss Matt's wedding so he could have a wrestling match in California, where he ended up meeting Kenny Omega.
