NWA World Title Changes Hands At CZW Cage Of Death 19

Nick Aldis has won the NWA World Heavyweight title.

As you can see in the video above, Aldis defeated Storm with a variation of the air raid crash to win the title. This is Aldis' second attempt at capturing the title after failing to defeat Storm last month, and his first reign with the championship. Storm held the title for 414 days, originally defeating Jax Dane on October 21, 2016 at a show in Sherman, Texas.

Storm was advertised for the show, but originally wasn't scheduled for the match. Aldis came out and challenged him to an impromptu match, which Storm accepted for later on in the night. Aldis, managed by Austin Idol, brought out Brian Hebner as the referee for the match and won.

Storm had been a big part of the NWA's relaunch following Billy Corgan's purchase of the company back in October. He was prominently featured on the NWA web series Ten Pounds of Gold, where it chronicled Storm's life as NWA champion and showed him preparing for his match against Aldis last month.

NWA is set to run their own shows starting next spring.
