Oba Femi: NXT Is The NCAA Of Wrestling, It Gives You The Opportunity To See The Future Generation

Oba Femi says NXT offers fans a glimpse of the future.

NXT has been WWE's developmental brand for years, and the process has changed at different points, as NXT went through the 2.0 era. More recently, NXT's roster has become a hybrid of wrestlers who sign with WWE and athletes from other sports who are trained from scratch.

WWE NXT was profiled by WCCB Charlotte, and NXT North American Champion Oba Femi, among others, was interviewed.

“NXT is the NCAA of wrestling. NXT gives you the opportunity to see what the future generation is right now before they become what they’re going to be," Femi said.

WWE Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative Shawn Michaels also discussed the brand, and he noted how the youthful talent made it exciting. He also teased that anything could happen on live television.

"What you’re going to see is the best that I think WWE has to offer. It’s young, it’s diverse, it’s different, it’s exciting. These young, passionate, excited talent, anything can happen on live television, and that’s what we’re selling," Michaels said.

Femi is set to defend the NXT North American Championship against Tony D'Angelo on the October 8th episode of NXT.
