Omos Discusses 'Super-Booster' In His Brain, Undergoing Two Brain Surgeries In College

Omos has become a force in the wrestling world, winning the WWE Raw Tag Team Titles alongside AJ Styles in his first match.

Omos was signed by WWE in 2019 and before he entered the world of professional wrestling, he used his immense size and frame on the basketball court. Unfortunately, his size was a hindrance as he couldn't catch up to the speed of the game and suffered an ACL injury that derailed his college career.

He also underwent two brain surgeries due to a "super-booster," which explained his size.

“That puts a lot of things into perspective now, about how large I am,” Omos said in a profile piece on The Athletic. “I had the super-booster.”

Doctors told Omogbehin the tumor was encroaching on his optic nerve and he was on the verge of going blind in two months.

He had one surgery and then another surgery the following year to clean up residual issues.

“The moment they go in there, it literally screws up your whole hormonal system,” he said. “My body never quite felt the same. My confidence was low. I never really could recoup. I always felt like I was a shadow of myself.”

Omos eventually found his confidence, feeling "uncaged" at his WWE tryout and being offered a roster spot immediately.

“Listen, when you see somebody his size, that turns heads the way he does, you accelerate him a little quicker than the next guy,” said NXT head trainer Matt Bloom. “Because someone like him doesn’t come around very often.”

Omos has taken notes from Undertaker and Kevin Nash on how to move and use his size in the world of wrestling. He also mentioned Randy Orton, Sheamus and Adam Pearce as guys who have gone out of their way to help him. And of course, his tag team partner AJ Styles.

“Me being paired with AJ Styles is the best thing that could ever happen for my career,” he said. “The best thing. That’s the best I can put it. The best thing. He’s been like a big brother to me. I just listen to him and absorb.”

Omos and Styles are set to face The Viking Raiders at some point in the near future at Erik & Ivar recently won a tag team number one contenders battle royal.
