Orange Cassidy couldn't get Jon Moxley to bleed at AEW All Out.
Cassidy and Moxley headlined the pay-per-view on September 3, as "Freshly Squeezed" defended the AEW International Championship against the former world champion. Moxley, who is known for bleeding in many of his matches, busted Cassidy wide open. However, he surprisingly did not wind up getting bloody himself. In the end, Moxley beat Cassidy to end his remarkable title reign.
Speaking with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Cassidy commented on Moxley's lack of blood.
“It wasn’t for lack of trying. But for a guy who bleeds as much as Jon, I couldn’t get him to. I don’t know what that says about me," Cassidy said.
Cassidy also praised Moxley and made it clear that he respects him. He noted that Moxley leads by example, and he makes everyone around him better, both as wrestlers and as people. The former champion also quipped that blood is inevitable when you're in the ring with Moxley.
“That’s the guy who put AEW on his shoulders when we needed carrying. The respect I have for Jon Moxley is immense. He leads by example, and his presence and actions make us better professional wrestlers and better people. Yes, when you’re in a ring with him, you’re going to bleed," Cassidy said.
After the bell rang at AEW All Out, Cassidy stayed down on the mat and gradually got back to his feet. The crowd gave him an ovation in recognition of his hard work throughout his title reign. Cassidy made it clear that he is grateful for the fans' support, and he emphasized that they don't get enough credit for what they do.
“My trajectory through AEW is only because of the AEW fans. I appreciated the moment they gave me. They did that for me, but it wasn’t just for me. It was for them, too. They’re the reason I was covered in blood. I wrestle for them. They make our company run, and I don’t think we give enough credit for what they do," he said.
Moving forward, Cassidy expressed his excitement for the future. He noted that it's not time to stop. Instead, it's time to go to AEW Dynamite and see what's next.
