Paige On A Potential In-Ring Return: Not For A Hot Minute, But Hopefully One Day

Rumors of Paige's in-ring return have been in headlines for weeks as the Royal Rumble is approaching and Paige has dropped some teases on social media.

Paige had to retire in 2018 following another neck injury. She previously had neck surgery in 2016, which caused her to miss a year of in-ring action.

WWE Announces Lineup For Friday's NXT Level Up

Appearing on Good Morning Britain, Paige discussed her latest neck injury and retirement, saying "Sometimes you push yourself too hard because you want to entertain the masses. So, you don't relax. I had my neck surgery, came back, and pushed myself too far. Even WWE was like, 'You need to slow down.' I was like, 'No, let me keep doing it.' Unfortunately, it led to me having to retire. It was a lot of wear and tear. I've been doing wrestling since I was 13 years old. My body didn't have time to fully develop properly because I was constantly bumping around. It wasn't just one move, it was multiple."

As far as the rumors of a return go, when asked if she would be making her return, she replied, "Not for a hot minute. Never say never, of course. You don't want to put any doubt or anything. But hopefully one day."

Stephanie McMahon, who was a guest alongside Paige, noted that WWE superstars are great at building their brand on social media and that Paige "likes to stoke the fire."

WWE Royal Rumble takes place on Jan. 26 in Houston, Texas. Paige has not been confirmed for the event, but you can view the list of competitors entered into the Women's Royal Rumble by clicking here.
