The tournament was announced after Stephanie Vaquer left the company. Due to her departure, the NJPW STRONG Women's Championship, CMLL World Women's Championship, and CMLL World Women's Tag Team Championship (which she held with Zeuxis) were vacated.

Zeuxis aimed to regain the gold by teaming with Persephone against the duo of Tessa Blanchard and Lluvia. After a heated back-and-forth battle between the two teams, Blanchard hit a diving Code Breaker on Persephone while Lluvia hit the Meteora on Zeuxis to clinch the victory and win the vacant titles.

This was Blanchard's second-ever tag title win in her career, as she previously held the SHIMMER Tag Team Championships alongside Vanessa Craven. This was also Lluvia's second-ever tag title reign in her career; she held the now-defunct CMLL Mexican National Women's Tag Team Championship with La Jarochita as part of Las Chicas Indomables.

Blanchard left TNA (then IMPACT) in 2022 and was stripped of the IMPACT World Title in her departure. She was accused of bullying others and of making racist comments (allegations she denied). She also had a falling out with WOW Women of Wrestling after being announced as one of the faces of the company for the new season. In 2023, she made amends with La Rosa Negra, who accused her of bullying and using a racial slur.
