'Prove Me Right': Edge & Christian Reveal Vince McMahon's Motivational Moments

Edge and Christian both say Vince McMahon gave them last second motivation.

On a recent episode of E & C's Pod of Awesomeness, Edge and Christian were discussing Kevin Owen's recent segment on Smackdown with Vince McMahon. Edge noted McMahon was talking to Owens during the segment and this led to Edge sharing a story about when he cashed in the Money in The Bank briefcase in 2006.

"I know how Vince talks likes that. Like when I came out and handed him the briefcase, he says stuff to you. It's motivating stuff," said Edge. "(McMahon said) 'Prove me right', because he was the only one who was in my corner," he added.

Edge would go on to win the WWE Championship from John Cena after cashing in the briefcase. His title reign was short, but he ended his career with ten world championships. Christian then shared a story about one of his own championship matches. He was facing Alberto Del Rio at Summerslam in 2013. Christian said McMahon spoke to him right before that match.

"I was standing at the curtain, right before I wrestled Del Rio at Summerslam for the world title. They did this big media package on my career, really gave the feeling it was an important match," said Christian. "I was standing there and watching the video because I hadn't seen it. All of a sudden I feel this presence beside me. I turn my head and Vince's head is right there. He whispers to me 'I dare you to steal the show,'" he continued.

Edge and Christian said McMahon specializes in motivating his wrestlers. As Edge put it, McMahon knows "how to push buttons" for each individual wrestler. Christian said that match at Summerslam was "better than good" and McMahon gave him a knowing nod when Christian returned backstage.
