Reactions From Around The Wrestling World As Meiko Satomura Announces Upcoming Retirement

The wrestling world reacts to Meiko Satomura's retirement announcement.

On July 26th, Japanese wrestling legend Meiko Satomura announced that she would be retiring from the ring in April of 2025, which will serve as the 30th anniversary of her career. She also announced that she would be competing in several matches for her promotion, Sendai Girls in the coming months. The current WWE superstar has also competed in WCW, Progress and other promotions around the world throughout her legendary career. The wrestling world has now reacted to the news of Meiko's impending retirement.

Meiko herself reacted to the news on social media, noting that she will continue to push herself to her peak during her final run.

Progress Wrestling, where Meiko had previously held the Women's World Title, would state their pride of having previously had Satomura as their champion.

WWE Women's Champion Bayley, who faced off with Meiko during WWE's recent tour of Japan, thanked Meiko.

WWE's Natalya also reacted to Bayley's post, also sending her love to Meiko.

During the press conference where Meiko would announce her retirement, AEW's Emi Sakura told Meiko she wants a match with her, regardless of if she works for WWE.
