WWE video game work is getting done ahead of the Royal Rumble.
According to Mike Johnson at PWInsider, representatives from 2K Games are slated to be at WWE Royal Rumble on Sunday.
The report states that WWE talent will be recording voiceover work for the next video game and there are plans for most, if not the entire roster, to be scanned to be included in future games.
WWE and 2K have made no announcements regarding the future of the WWE 2K series. During an investor call in April 2020 it was announced that WWE and 2K would not be releasing WWE 2K21.
WWE 2K20 was bogged down by issues and was considered to be unplayable by many users. The game received a Metacritic score of 43 on PS4 and 45 on XONE. With no annual WWE 2K simulation game release, WWE and 2K released WWE 2K Battlegrounds in its place, an arcade-style game featuring more over the top gameplay.
Fightful will continue to update fans on the future of the WWE 2K series as more is known.
