As reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Becky Lynch has completed filming for "Happy Gilmore 2", the sequel to Adam Sandler's 1996 comedy that is set to premiere on Netflix in 2025. Per Johnson, Lynch is set to be a member of a group of rival golfers.
The wrestling crossover in "Happy Gilmore 2" extends beyond Lynch. Former AEW World Champion MJF and Bad Bunny, who has crossed over to WWE multiple times, are also in the film.
Adam Sandler, Julie Bowen, and Christopher McDonald were in "Happy Gilmore", and they are set to reprise their roles in the sequel.
Lynch has branched out into acting in recent years. She made a cameo appearance in "Billions", and she was also in two episodes of "Young Rock". Lynch previously made her film debut in "The Marine 6: Close Quarters" in 2018, and she also had a voiceover role in Rumble.
Lynch recently announced that she had joined the cast of "Star Trek: Starfleet Academy". More information is available here.
As of this writing, Lynch has not appeared on WWE programming since the May 27th, 2024, episode of WWE Raw. Fightful Select reported that she entered free agency on June 1st. She attended the WWE/Netflix media event in December, and she appeared in the Raw on Netflix trailer.
