Report: CM Punk Files Counter Lawsuit Against Colt Cabana; Punk Seeking $600,000 In Damages

The legal battle between Colt Cabana and CM Punk continues.

PWInsider reports that CM Punk has filed a counter lawsuit against Colt Cabana and is seeking $600,000 in "general damages as well as interest on such damages as allowed by law; costs of suit incurred and additional relief that the court deems just and proper."

Punk makes the following claims in his counter lawsuit:

- He spent $1.2 million on legal bills over the two-year period where The Loeb Firm defended himself and Colton against Dr. Chris Amann's allegations. Cabana did not contribute anything in attorney's fees.

- The 2014 Art of Wrestling episode featuring CM was the most successful episode in the show's history. Punk noted that Cabana receives money through advertisements, sponsorships, and impressions but did not offer to use any of that money to help with legal fees.

- Punk believes that Cabana left the AOW episode up for download despite a demand letter from Dr. Amann's team to keep financially profiting off the episode. Cabana previously contended that he would have removed the episode and settled with Amann had Punk not promised him that he would be taken care of legally.

- Punk alleges that he paid $1.2 million to the Loeb Firm in legal fees and that Cabana has yet to reimburse him for his share.

Cabana's side must respond to the lawsuit by July 3.

Back in April, Circuit Court of Cook County in Illinois dismissed one count of Cabana's lawsuit against Punk. You can find more information about the ongoing legal battle between the two by clicking here.
