Report: Dean Ambrose Turned Down Five-Year Deal With Seven-Figure Downside From WWE

New details on WWE's contract offer to Dean Ambrose.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Dean Ambrose turned down a five-year deal with "a downside of just over $1 million per year."

PW Torch reported late Monday night that Ambrose had informed WWE officials over the weekend that he would be leaving the company when his contract expires at the end of April. On Tuesday afternoon, WWE confirmed that Ambrose would not be renewing his contract when it expires.

Ambrose reportedly told WWE management that he is not interested in negotiating a new contract and isn't holding out for more money.

Fightful reports that Ambrose's wife Renee Young has time left on her contract and that she and Ambrose are known for their ability to be able to separate their personal and professional lives.

Ambrose has reportedly been vocal about in his criticism of his use since his heel turn. According to reports, Ambrose hates doing "hokey" bits. During his recent run as Intercontinental Champion, Ambrose did a backstage bit where he received a vaccination shot in order to protect himself from the live crowd.
