Report: Paige Not Getting Cleared, Done As WWE Wrestler

Horrible news for both WWE and Paige, per a new report.

According to PWInsider, the former WWE Divas Champion's WWE in-ring career is over after sustaining another neck injury weeks ago during a live event tag team match that involved Sasha Banks. The outlet described the injury similar to that of Edge, which forced him to retire immediately following a WrestleMania world championship match.

Per the report, Paige was informed Monday at Raw that she will not be cleared to return to the ring. Initially, WWE had hoped that Paige sustained a stinger and would be able to return. She underwent tests, and after the neck injury and subsequent surgery that left her sidelined for over a year between 2016 and 2017, the decision was made to not clear her. It's worth noting that she also has scoliosis and said that years of wrestling hasn't helped that, either.

The most recent injury occurred on December 28, when Paige was kicked in the back by Sasha Banks. The spot had been done the night prior with Bayley delivering the kick, but the latter was given with much more velocity, and Paige was immediately pulled from the match.

This could cap off a rollercoaster career for Paige in WWE, which has involved championship wins, drug suspensions, surgeries, returns and controversies aplenty. She's also having a movie produced about her life by The Rock's production company, titled "Fighting With My Family," which will be released this September.

If this is the end of her in-ring career at only 25, she'll retire as a two-time WWE Divas Champion, NXT Champion, and also held titles in WAWW, SCW, RQW, RDW, Pro-Wrestling: EVE, PWF, HEW and GSW.

She had been slated to take part in WWE's first ever women's Royal Rumble match later this month, but has obviously been pulled from the show.
