Thunder Rosa is making the transition to mixed martial arts after reportedly signing a deal with Combate Americas.
According to Marc Raimondi of ESPN, the promotion signed Thunder Rosa, whose real name is Melissa Cervantes, to a multi-fight deal and could make her debut on November 8 at a card in San Antonio, Texas. Squared Circle Sirens first reported that Cervantes could potentially sign with Combate Americas. She would go on and confirm the news on social media added that her weight class in MMA is yet to be determined.

Cervantes is a longtime Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioner and has been training to make her MMA debut for some time. Cervantes has also wrestled in Lucha Underground as Kobra Moon and as Serpentine on AXS TV's Women Of Wrestling show. In Lucha Underground, she was a former Trios Champion alongside Daga and Jeremiah Snake.
This isn't the first time Combate Americas has brought on a pro wrestler to its roster. Former WWE star Alberto Del Rio, who has fought professionally in MMA, is a figurehead for the company and is set to fight former UFC champion Tito Ortiz at some point in the future.
