IMPACT Wrestling Results for 5/19/20 Callihan Defeated, Elgin Advances, Mack & Moose Remain Champion

Good evening Fight Fans,and welcome to our coverage of tonight's edition of IMPACT Wrestling on AXS TV and Twitch.TV!

Steve Maclin: Deonna Purrazzo Has A Little Bit More Of A Spark In AEW, She's Hungry For That Spot

- We open tonight's show with a recap of last week before we open in the IMPACT Zone with the Number One Contender Tournament match between Rhino and Ace Austin.

IMPACT World Championship Number One Contender Tournament Match

Rhino vs Ace Austin

They wring each other's wrists before Rhino puts Ace in a side headlock and yanks him down to the mat before Ace grabs the ropes when Rhino whips him into the them and rolls out of the ring to regroup. Ace slides back into the ring and kicks Rhino in the midsection before punching and chopping him in the corner before Rhino comes back with chops of his own and whips Ace into the corner before hip tossing him. Ace literally dives out of the ring to avoid a Gore by Rhino before Rhino goes out after him and suplexes him onto the floor before sending him into the railing and getting a chair out from underneath the ring before the referee admonishes him and Rhino slides the chair into the ring before Ace hits a drive-by into a PK on the apron. Ace hits an enzuigiri and sends Rhino into the post before Rhino gets back into the ring at the count of nine and Ace is all over him, stomping and punching Rhino in mount before hitting Rhino with a springboard roundhouse kick for a near fall. Ace locks in a rear chin lock before Rhino powers to his feet and they clothesline each other before Rhino comes back with right hands and a clothesline into a back elbow before Ace drops Rhino with an spinning heel kick for a near fall.

Ace then climbs to the top before Rhino hits him with a right hand and superplexes Ace for a near fall of his own before Ace grabs the chair and Rhino takes it from him before the referee grabs it and Ace hits Rhino with his baton before hitting The Fold for the pin and the win.

Winner: Ace Austin defeats Rhino via pinfall to advance to the next round of the tournament.

- After the match we go to an interview from earlier today that Josh had with Moose as we go to commercial.

- We come back to footage from during the break where Ace Austin cut a promo backstage before we go to Kiera Hogan talking to Tasha Steelz and seemingly forming an alliance before we go to Josh and Madison who talk about the rest of tonight's show headlined by a tournament match between Sami Callihan and Michael Elgin.

Dave Crist w/ Jake Crist & Madman Fulton vs Crazzy Steve

Steve goes right after Dave and misses a cannonball in the corner before Dave takes control as Joey Ryan makes his way down to the ramp and watches the match as Dave chokes Steve in the ropes. Dave kicks Steve in the ribs before dropping him with a right hand and kicking him in the spine before stomping him in the corner and distracting the referee as Fulton and Jake choke Steve. Steve then comes back with a diving DDT out of nowhere for the pin and the win.

Winner: Crazzy Steve defeats Dave Crist via pinfall.

- After the match OvE argue before Fulton nearly double chokeslams the Crists and rips his OvE shirt off before leaving by himself as we go to commercial.

- We come back from the break to Fulton leaving the arena before we go to Rosemary talking to Mr.Mundo before John E. Bravo shows up and takes the dog back before we go back to the ring for our next match.

Team XXXL vs TJP & Fallah Bahh

Bahh and Acey start things off for their respective members by locking up several times before Bahh dodges Acey and hits a running senton before tagging in TJP who hits a diving ax handle and Acey tosses him away when he tries to lock up. Larry comes in and nearly sends TJP over the top rope when he shoves him away before TJP misses a sit-down splash and TJP hits a sliding cross body into a basement dropkick before Bahh hits a running splash with TJP on his back. Bahh drops Larry with a back elbow before TJP and Bahh double up on Larry for two before TJP gets ran over by Larry who tags Acey in as we go to commercial.

We come back to TJP getting smashed between Acey and Larry for two before TJP fights out of a bear hug and runs right into a spine buster for two before Larry squeezes TJP until TJP claps his ears and Acey knocks Bahh off of the apron. TJP takes out Larry and Acey before Bahh comes in and knocks Acey out of the ring before hitting Larry with a running cross body and Larry counters a belly to belly suplex before Acey sends him across the ring with a shoulder tackle for a near fall that TJP breaks up. Acey sends TJP out of the ring before Bahh hits a double running cross body and hits Larry with a belly to belly suplex for a near fall before he drags Larry to the corner and Acey sends Bahh out of the ring. Acey then slams TJP before Bahh saves TJP from a banzai drop from Larry and TJP hits a diving splash for the pin and the win.

Winner: TJP and Fallah Bahh defeat Team XXXL via pinfall.

TNA World Heavyweight Championship Match

Moose (c) vs Suicide

Suicide immediately leaves over an attempted spear before hitting a head scissors and Moose hops up before Suicide hangs in the ropes and sends Moose through the ropes. Suicide goes for a diving cross bod, but Moose catches him before Suicide gets free and sends Moose into the post before tossing him back into the ring and hitting a head scissors into an octopus stretch. Suicide covers Moose for two and kicks his knee out before hitting a basement dropkick and Moose rolls out of the ring before he goes for a suicide dive and Moose catches him before slinging him repeatedly into the railing. Back in the ring Moose tosses Suicide across the ring before whipping him into the opposite corner before punching him repeatedly in the top of the head and tearing at his mask. Moose hits Suicide across the back and steps on the back of his head and neck before whipping him across the ring and into the opposite corner that he bounces off of before Moose lifts him up and talks to Suicide who tries to clothesline him several times.

Suicide comes back and turns Moose inside out before Moose misses a running splash in the corner and Suicide hits several running dropkicks in the corner into a rolling senton into an asai moonsault for a near fall. Moose comes back and beats Suicide down before stomping him in the corner and argues with the referee before they both nearly take out the referee and Suicide catches a kick before hitting a code breaker. Suicide then superkicks Moose in the head several times before hitting a diving cross body, but Moose rolls through and pins him for the win.

Winner: Moose retains the TNA World Heavyweight Championship by defeating Suicide via pinfall.

- After the match we go to a promo by Michael Elgin ahead of his tournament match against Sami Callihan in our main event as we go to commercial.

- We come back to Chris Bey talking to Johnny Swinger in front of a black background before we go back to the IMPACT Zone as Johnny comes out to the ring for his title challenge against Willie Mack.

X-Division Championship Match

Willie Mack (c) vs Johnny Swinger

Johnny attacks Willie as soon as the match starts and chokes him in the corner before sending him face first into the top turnbuckle and whips him into the corner before hitting a running clothesline. Johnny drops Willie with a back elbow for two before choking him more and hitting an elbow drop for two before tearing at the face of Mack and elbowing him in the top of the head. Johnny misses a clothesline and Willie hits a scoop slam into a running leg drop before following up with a running splash in the corner before Johnny counters a Samoan drop into a swinging neckbreaker for two, Willie getting his foot on the bottom rope. Johnny then grabs the X-Division title and holds it up before he goes to hit the referee and Willie and Willie hits a Samoan drop into a standing moonsault for the pin and the win.

Winner: Willie Mack retains his X-Division Championship by defeating Johnny Swinger via pinfall.

- Johnny attacks Willie after the match when he's celebrating before Chris Bey comes out and joins Johnny before they celebrate as we go to commercial.

- We come back to a video of The North before they're interrupted by Cody Deaner and they agree to a match before The North leave before we go back to Josh and Madison who talk about our main event up next as well as The North defending their tag belts against Cody and an unknown partner.

IMPACT World Championship Tournament Match

Sami Callihan vs Michael Elgin

Elgin drives Sami into the corner before Sami kicks him away when he won't break before Sami slaps Elgin when he grabs his foot and Elgin snatches Sami's hand when he starts chopping him. Sami rakes the eyes of Elgin and goes for a piledriver, but Elgin is ready and goes for an ankle lock before Sami scrambles out of the ring and to the ramp. Sami hobbles to the ring before he rushes in when Elgin goes out after him before hitting a DDT for two when he grabs Elgin when he tries to get back into the ring before Sami boots Elgin out of the ring. Sami sends Elgin into the railing and the post before trapping his arm in the railing and bending it before Elgin counters another piledriver and sends Sami's ankle into the edge of the apron before dropping him ankle first across the top of the railing. Elgin then wraps Sami's leg and ankle around the post before they get back into the ring and Sami hits Elgin with a forearm before Elgin dropkicks his knee as we go to commercial.

We come back to Elgin in control before he hits a sliding lariat and Sami turns it into a pin attempt with a crucifix before they exchange strikes until Sami turns Elgin inside out with a clothesline. Sami sends Elgin out of the ring and hits a suicide dive before headbutting him and tossing him back into the ring before Elgin fights him off once they're back in the ring momentarily only for Sami to suplex Elgin for two. Elgin takes Sami down and goes back to focusing on his ankle before hitting Sami with a sliding lariat across the back of the neck for a near fall. Elgin locks in a single leg Boston crab before Sami nearly passes out and gets to the ropes before hitting Sami with lariats and forearms before Sami collapses when Elgin goes for a running lariat. Sami hits a back suplex into a sliding forearm for a near fall before Elgin counters a piledriver and hits a buckle bomb before Sami gets a near fall off of a back slide and Elgin nearly knocks him out with a forearm.

Elgin then hits a discus chop before hitting Sami with an Elgin Bomb for the pin and the win.

Winner: Michael Elgin defeats Sami Callihan via pinfall to advance in the tournament.
