Toa Henare & Shota Umino vs. Suzuki-Gun (Zack Sabre Jr. & Taka Michinoku)
The match begins with some chain wrestling between Michinoku and Umino, Umino drops Michinoku with a shoulder tackle after a headlock exchange. Umino gets Michinoku down before stomping away on him, Michinoku recovers and he tags Sabe Jr into the match. Sabre Jr holds Umino down before applying the bow and arrow stretch, Michinoku tags in and he applies a headlock to Umino. Michinoku holds Umino down while applying a head scissors, Umino fights back and he eventually nails Michinoku with a drop kick. Henare tags in and he cleans house against the opposing team, Henare knocks Sabre Jr to the arena floor before landing a falling chop on Michinoku. Sabre Jr tags in and he attacks Henare with European uppercuts, Henare recovers and nails Sabre Jr with a Samoan drop.
Umino tags in and he double teams Sabre Jr alongside Henare, Umino nails Sabre Jr with a missile drop kick for a near fall. Sabre Jr catches Umino in an STF and Umino gets to the ropes, Umino gets up and he attacks Sabre Jr with chops before rolling him up for a near fall. Sabre Jr gets Umino in an octopus stretch and Umino taps out.

Chaos (Toru Yano & Gedo) vs. Kota Ibushi & Yujiro Takahashi
The match begins with Gedo applying a headlock on Takahashi, Gedo bites the hand of Takahashi as Takahashi pulls on his beard. Gedo gets free and he peppers Takahashi with his patented jabs, Ibushi tags in and he he double teams Gedo alongside Takahashi. Gedo traps Ibushi in the ropes before landing a drop kick to the knee, Yano tags in and he has a striking exchange with Ibushi. Yano and Ibushi have a striking exchange until Yano lands an atomic drop, Yano removes the turnbuckle pad and Ibushi sends him into the exposed corner. Ibushi drops Yano for a near fall on a pin attempt, Yano recovers and nails Ibushi with a belly to belly suplex. Takahashi and Gedo get tagged in by their respective partners, Takahashi trips up Gedo before landing a basement drop kick,.
Takahashi hits Gedo with a fisherman buster suplex for a near fall, Ibushi and Yano take their battle to the arena floor. Gedo catches Takahashi with a few roll ups for a few near falls, Takahashi hits Gedo with a reverse DDT followed by Pimp Juice for the three count.

Juice Robinson & David Finlay vs. Los Ingobernables (Tetsuya Naito & Sanada)
The match begins with Robinson taking Naito down with a few arm drags, Sanada and Finlay get tagged in by their respective partners. Sanada quickly applies the headlock to Finlay, Finlay gets free and he quickly nails Sanada with a drop kick. Naito distracts Finlay and Sanada attacks him from behind, Naito attacks Robinson and they battle on the arena floor. LIJ hits the ring together and they double team Finlay, Naito tags in and he nails Finlay with some forearm strikes. Finlay fights back and he drops Naito with a leaping European uppercut, Robinson tags in and he cleans house against the opposing team. Robinson then nails a dazed Naito with the patented jabs, Naito recovers to drop Robinson before landing a drop kick to the injured hand.
Naito holds Robinson down while wrenching away on the inured hand, Sanada tags in and he cracks Sanada with a leg lariat. Finlay tags in and he nails Sanada with multiple running European uppercuts, Finlay then hits Sanada with a uranage back breaker for a near fall. Robinson hits the ring to double team Sanada alongside Finlay, Naito interferes and he gets Robinson out of the ring. Sanada gets Finlay in the Skull End and a tap out follows.

Bullet Club (Kenny Omega & Chase Owens) vs. Guerillas Of Destiny (Tama Tonga & Tonga Loa)
The match begins with an all out brawl between both teams, GOD double team Owens after Omega is knocked out of the ring. Omega returns and he brawls with Tama, Omega nails both opponents with a double drop kick followed by a double kitaro crusher. Omega then takes Loa out with a dive to the arena floor, Tama avoids a diving Omega before dropping him with a clothesline. Loa and Owens battle in the ring after a brief skirmish on the arena floor, Loa hits Owens with a suplex for a near fall. Tama tags in and he hits Owens with a slingshot splash for a near fall, Loa tags in and the GOD double teams Owens. Owens recovers to hit Loa with a bicycle kick to the face, Tama attacks Omega on the arena floor and he then slams him on the arena floor.
Owens nails Loa with a striking combination that ends with a thrust kick to the face, Owens goes for a package pile driver and Tama interferes to land a Tongan Twist. Omega hits the ring to attack Tama and he eats a spear from Loa, Omega goes after both opponents with strikes until Tama lands a Gun Stun. Loa nails Owens with Ape Shit for the three count.

Chaos (Hirooki Goto & Yoh) vs. Chaos (Tomohiro Ishii & Sho)
The match begins with Ishii and Goto exchanging shoulder tackles and some strikes until Goto goes down, Ishii traps Goto in the corner while landing chops. Sho and Yoh get tagged in by their respective partners, Sho and Yoh do some chain wrestling while getting a few near falls on each other. Yoh eventually drops Sho with a flying forearm strike, Yoh then connects with a neck breaker on Sho for a near fall. Sho recovers and drops Yoh before tagging Ishii into the match, Yoh catches Ishii with a dragon screw leg whip before tagging Goto in. Goto goes for a Saito Suplex and Ishii blocks it before eating a spin kick in the corner, Goto nails Ishii with a Saito Suplex for a near fall. Yoh tags in and he attacks Ishii with strikes in the corner, Yoh catches Ishii with a rope assisted enzaguri followed by a double stomp.
Yoh then hits Ishii with a super kick followed by a falcon arrow for a near fall, Sho hits the ring to nail Goto with a drop kick and then hitting Yoh with a German suplex. Sho and Ishii would then double team Yoh, Ishii crushes Yoh with a lariat and a brain buster for the three count.
Winners: Chaos (Tomohiro Ishii & Sho)
NJPW G1 Climax 28 Block A: Michael Elgin vs. Jay White
The match begins with White nailing Elgin with some strikes to the back of the head, White goes for a back suplex and Elgin turns it into a pinning combination. Elgin goes after White by landing a series of chops, White rolls out of the ring and Elgin takes him out with a suicide dive. White knocks Elgin into the crowd before exchanging some blows, Elgin looks to suplex White into the crowd and White sends him crashing into the barricade. White then nails Elgin with a Saito Suplex on the arena floor, White then throws Elgin into the ringside edge and barricade. White gets Elgin back in the ring for a near fall on a pin attempt, White traps Elgin in the corner while landing some European uppercuts. Elgin fights back and White drops him with a neck breaker for a near fall, White holds Elgin down while applying a bridging STF.
Elgin goes to the ring apron and he drops White with an enzaguri before landing a sling shot double stomp, White misses a charge in the corner before eating an enzaguri. Elgin then crushes a cornered White with a series of running clotheslines, Elgin gets White on the top rope and he follows him up there. The two battle off the ropes before White nails Elgin with another Saito Suplex, White follows up by hitting Elgin with a uranage for a near fall. Elgin and White have a striking exchange in the middle of the ring, White drops a swinging Elgin with a flat liner before landing a German suplex. Elgin recovers to nail White with a release German suplex into the corner, White catches Elgin with a pinning combination before landing a series of head and arm suplexes.
Elgin recovers and he gets White on the top rope and he follows him up there, Elgin then hits White with a superplex for a near fall. Elgin follows up with a top rope splash on White for a near fall, the two battle to the ring apron and White eventually drops Elgin on the ring apron. White looks for a Kiwi Crusher and both competitors go crashing to the arena floor below, the competitors beat the count into the ring before White nails Elgin with a head and arm suplex. Elgin recovers and nails White with a roaring elbow strike to the back of the head, Elgin then hits White with a knee strike and a release German suplex. Elgin follows up by nailing White with a tiger bomb for a near fall, Elgin lands a buckle bomb just as White grabs the referee. White nails Elgin with a low blow followed by Blade Runner for the three count.

NJPW G1 Climax 28 Block A: Yoshi-Hashi vs. Minoru Suzuki
The match begins with Yoshi-Hashi attacking Suzuki before the bell sounds, Yoshi-Hashi knocks Suzuki out of the ring with a shoulder tackle. Yoshi-Hashi goes out of the ring as well before throwing Suzuki into the barricade, Yoshi-Hashi keeps Suzuki near the ring apron while landing some chops. Suzuki fights back and he traps Yoshi-Hashi near the ring post before attacking the injured arm with chair shots, Suzuki grabs Yoshi-Hashi and he throws him into the crowd. Suzuki grabs another chair and he attacks Yoshi-Hashi with it, Suzuki waits for Yoshi-Hashi to get back in the ring before applying a rope assisted arm bar. Suzuki drops Yoshi-Hashi before ripping the protective bandage from the injured arm, Suzuki knocks Yoshi-Hashi over with a few kicks.
Yoshi-Hashi fights back and Suzuki clobbers him with strikes of his own, Suzuki corners Yoshi-Hashi before landing a running boot to the head. Yoshi-Hashi blocks a penalty kick from Suzuki before nailing him with a DDT, Yoshi-Hashi then hits Suzuki with a running chop. Yoshi-Hashi places Suzuki on the top rope before landing a running drop kick, Yoshi-Hashi follows up by landing a top rope Head Hunter for a near fall. Suzuki recovers and he gets Yoshi-Hashi down while applying the Fujiwara arm bar, Suzuki transitions to a regular arm bar against Yoshi-Hashi until Yoshi-Hashi gets to the ropes. Yoshi-Hashi gets to his knees as Suzuki kicks away at him, Suzuki applies the rear naked choke on Yoshi-Hashi. Suzuki goes for the Gotch Style Pile Driver and Yoshi-Hashi gets free with a back body drop.
Yoshi-Hashi then cracks a charging Suzuki with a Western Lariat, Yoshi-Hashi follows up by nailing Suzuki with a Head Hunter for a near fall. Yoshi-Hashi goes for the Butterfly Lock and Suzuki gets to the ropes, Yoshi-Hashi reapplies the Butterfly Lock and Suzuki eventually makes it to the ropes. Yoshi-Hashi follows the submission up by nailing Suzuki with a lung blower, Suzuki regains control by destroying Yoshi-Hashi with a drop kick. Suzuki gets Yoshi-Hashi in the middle of the ring before landing a multiple strike combination, Suzuki drops Yoshi-Hashi with a forearm strike after a series of reversals. Suzuki goes for the Gotch Style Pile Driver and he lands it for the three count.

NJPW G1 Climax 28 Block A: Togi Makabe vs. Evil
The match begins with a striking exchange between Makabe and Evil, Evil backs Makabe into the corner while landing chops. Makabe eventually drops Evil and Evil rolls out of the ring, Makabe and Evil have a striking exchange on the arena floor. Makabe grabs Evil and he throws him into the barricade, Evil avoids a charging Makabe and Makabe crashes into the barricade. Evil wraps a chair around the head of Makabe before hitting it with another chair, Evil waits for Makabe to get back into the ring and he immediately throws him back out. Evil throws Makabe into the crowd before dragging him up the bleachers, Makabe nails a charging Evil with a clothesline. Makabe drags Evil back towards the ringside area and then back into the ring, Makabe corners Evil before landing a running clothesline.
Makabe mounts Evil in the corner and he attacks him with multiple punches, Makabe then drops Evil with a clothesline for a near fall. Evil uses a referee distraction to nail Makabe with a thrust kick, Evil crushes Makabe with a clothesline in the corner. Evil then hits Makabe with a bronco buster in the corner for a near fall, Evil goes for the Banshee Muzzle and Makabe prevents it from happening. Evil then goes for a guillotine choke and he transitions to the Banshee Muzzle, Evil releases the hold and Makabe attacks his with chops. Evil recovers and he nails Makabe with a fisherman buster suplex, Evil follows up by landing Darkness Falls for another near fall. Evil goes for Everything Is Evil and Makabe blocks it before exchanging clotheslines, Evil eventually catches Makabe with Everything Is Evil for the three count.

NJPW G1 Climax 28 Block A: Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Bad Luck Fale
The match begins with Tanahashi immediately nailing Fale with a drop kick, Tanahashi attacks a cornered Fale with strikes to the knee. Tanahashi traps the leg of Fale in the ropes while twisting away on it, Fale fights back and Tanahashi nails him with a chop block. Fale charges at Tanahashi and Tanahashi drops him with a drop toe hold, Fale goes out of the ring and Tanahashi nails him with a cannonball from the ring apron. Fale recovers and he throws Tanahashi over the barricade into the Japanese announcers area, Tonga Loa interferes and attacks a downed Tanahashi. Fale grabs Tanahashi and he throws him into some chairs in the crowd, Tanahashi gets in the ring and Fale stands on him.
Fale traps Tanahashi in the ropes while pulling back on his head, Fale keeps Tanahashi in the ropes while landing a series of strikes. Fale slams Tanahashi before sitting on him for a near fall, Fale holds Tanahashi down while applying the nerve hold to him. Tanahashi fights back and Fale knocks him into the corner, Fale nails a cornered Tanahashi with clothesline smashes. Tanahashi recovers and he catches Fale with a series of drop kicks, Tanahashi drops Fale before landing a dragon screw leg whip. Tanahashi eventually gets Fale in the Texas cloverleaf, Fale gets free by sending Tanahashi out of the ring. Fale goes to the ring apron and he attacks Tanahashi with a few strikes, Tanahashi traps Fale in the ropes before landing another dragon screw leg whip. Tanahashi goes for a sunset flip and Fale sits on him for a near fall, Fale follows up by landing a splash for a near fall.
Tanahashi tries fighting back and Fale drops him with a clothesline, Fale then hits Tanahashi with a Samoan drop for a near fall. Fale goes for the Bad Luck Fall and Tanahashi counters with a roll up for a near fall, Tanahashi catches Fale with another roll up for a near fall. Tanahashi then catches Fale with a Twist & Shout, Tanahashi follows that up by landing a sling blade on Fale. Tanahashi goes for a High Fly Flow and Fale gets out of the way, Fale nails Tanahashi with an avalanche followed by a Grenade for a near fall. Fale goes for a Bad Luck Fall and Tanahashi counters with a sling blade, Tanahashi hits Fale with a High Fly Flow for a near fall as Loa drags the referee out of the ring. Loa hits the ring and he attacks Tanahashi, Fale accidentally nails Loa with a clothesline before eating a sling blade. Tama Tonga interferes to hit Tanahashi with a Gun Stun, the referee realizes there was interferes and he disqualifies Fale.

NJPW G1 Climax 28 Block A: Kazuchika Okada vs. Hangman Page
The match begins with Page wrenching away on the arm of Okada, Page drops Okada before applying a chin lock. Okada gets free and he trips up Page while mocking him, Page gets angry and he clotheslines Okada over the top rope and to the arena floor. Page then hits Okada with a dive that sends both crashing to the arena floor, Page gets Okada in the ring before landing a bridging slam for a near fall. Page keeps the pressure on Okada by attacking him with some chops, Page holds Okada down while applying the chin lock. Okda recovers and misses a senton attempt, Page then hits a downed Okada with a standing shooting star press for a near fall. Page keeps Okada down before landing a slingshot swanton bomb, Page holds Okada down while applying a modified chin lock.
Okada recovers and he plants Page with a DDT from out of nowhere, Okada nails Page with a few clotheslines before landing a running back elbow strike. Okada eats a few strikes before nailing a charging Page with a flapjack, Okada and Page both miss charges to the corner before Okada uses a drop kick to knock Page to the arena floor. Okada goes out of the ring and he throws Page into the crowd, Page leaps back into the ringside area before nailing Okada with a Buckshot Lariat. Page gets Okada back in the ring before going to the top rope, Page goes for a moonsault and Okada gets out of the way. Okada goes for a drop kick and Page avoids it, Okada goes for a tombstone and Page counters with a package tombstone pile driver for a near fall.
Okada goes to the ring apron and he catches Page with a few strikes, Okada goes to the top rope and Page follows him up there. Okada knocks Page off the ropes and Page meets him back up there, Page destroys Okada with a top rope neck breaker and Okada rolls to the arena floor. Page catches Okada with a moonsault that sends both crashing to the arena floor, Page gets Okada in the ring before landing a Buckshot Lariat for a near fall. Page escapes a German suplex from Okada to nail him with a running drop kick, Okada recovers and catches Page with a tombstone pile driver. Page and Okada exchange strikes until Okada drops him with a drop kick, Okada goes for the Rainmaker and Page counters with a super kick. Page counters second Rainmaker by nailing Okada with a power bomb, Page then hits Okada with a roaring elbow strike.
Okada escapes the Rite Of Passage to crush Page with a lariat, Okada nails Page with a Rainmaker for the three count.
