NJPW New Japan Cup ’20 Second Round Match
Taiji Ishimori vs. Yoshinobu Kanemaru

The match begins with Kanemaru jumping Ishimori during his entrance, Kanemaru brings Ishimori too ringside before throwing him into the barricade. Ishimori fights back and he throws Kanemaru into the barricade, Ishimori gets Kanemaru into the ring as the ref rings the bell. Ishimori then hits Kanemaru with a springboard seated senton, Ishimori keeps Kanemaru down while attacking him with strikes. Kanemaru recovers and he drop kicks Ishimori in the knee, Kanemaru keeps Ishimori down while stomping away on the injured knee. Kanemaru also smashes the injured knee of Ishimori on the mat below, Ishimori gets up and Kanemaru drop kicks him in the knee again. Kanemaru follows up by applying the figure four to Ishimori, Ishimori eventually gets to the ropes to break the submission attempt up. Kanemaru gets Ishimori out of the ring before smashing his leg into the barricade, Kanemaru waits for Ishimori to get into the ring to stomp away on his injured knee. Ishimori fights back and he nails Kanemaru with a handspring enziguri, Ishimori goes for a penalty kick and Kanemaru blocks it to exchange roll ups with him. Kanemaru then uses a ref distraction to nail Ishimori with a low blow, Kanemaru grabs his whiskey bottle and he takes a drink from it.

Ishimori prevents Kanemaru from spitting the drink out before landing a roll up for a near fall, Kanemaru recovers and he nails Ishimori with a reverse DDT for a near fall. Kanemaru goes for Deep Impact and Ishimori avoids it before getting rolled up for a near fall, Ishimori goes for the LeBell Lock and Kanemaru rakes his eyes. Ishimori recovers to hit Kanemaru with a knee strike and gut buster for a near fall, Ishimori follows up by hitting Kanemaru with the Bloody Cross for a three count.

Winner: Taiji Ishimori

Togi Makabe vs. Tomohiro Ishii

The match begins with Makabe and Ishii exchanging shoulder tackles until Ishii goes down, Makabe follows up by getting into a striking exchange with Ishii. Ishii ends the exchange by nailing a charging Makabe with a power slam, Ishii corners Makabe while attacking him with more strikes. Makabe fights back and he nails Ishii with a power slam. Makabe corners Ishii while landing some punches to the head, Makabe then lands a northern lights suplex on Ishii for a near fall. Makabe and Ishii have another striking exchange in the middle of the ring, Ishii charges at Makabe and he propels him into the corner. Ishii follows up by landing multiple knee drops on a downed Makabe, Ishii traps Makabe in the corner while landing multiple strikes to the back of his neck. Ishii drags Makabe to the middle of the ring before landing a back drop driver for a near fall, Makabe fights back and he cracks Ishii with a clothesline. Ishii gets up and he exchanges clotheslines with Makabe, Makabe eventually drops Ishii with a clothesline before landing a power bomb for a near fall. Makabe and Ishii get into another striking exchange until Ishii goes down, Makabe goes to the top rope and Ishii hits him with a clothesline. Ishii then gets Makabe off the ropes before landing another clothesline for a near fall, Makabe recovers and he hits Ishii with a German suplex for a near fall.

Makabe and Ishii quickly get into another striking exchange a few moments later, Ishii ends the exchange by nailing Makabe with a lariat for a near fall. Ishii follows up on that by nailing Makabe with a brain buster for a three count.

Hiroshi Tanahashi, Kota Ibushi & Ryusuke Taguchi vs. Suzuki-Gun (Taichi, Zack Sabre Jr. & Douki)

The match begins with Ibushi attacking the opposition before his partners could get to the ring, a brawl breaks out between both teams and it spills all over the arena. Tanahashi and Sabbre Jr take their battle into the ring, Tanahashi drops Sabre Jr with a cross body block and Taichi attacks him from behind. Taichi and Sabre Jr work over Tanahashi in the ring for a short time, another brawl takes place between members of both teams on the arena floor. Taichi grabs a steel chair and he attacks Ibushi with it, Sabre Jr traps Tanahashi’s leg in the ropes while twisting away on it. Taichi finds a cable wire and he chokes Ibushi with it, Douki tags in and he also works over the leg of Tanahashi. Sabre Jr tags in and he sends Tanahashi out of the ring, Taichi and Douki work over Tanahashi while he is out of the ring. Tanahashi is thrown back in the ring and Taichi gets tagged into the match, Taichi immediately attacks the injured knee on Tanahashi. Douki tags in and he gets Tanahashi in a leg lock, Tanahashi eventually gets too the ropes to break the submission attempt. Sabre Jr tags in and he immediately gets into a striking exchange with Tanahashi, Tanahashi ends the exchange by nailing Sabre Jr with a dragon screw leg whip.

Ibushi and Taichi are tagged in by their respective partners, Ibushi and Taichi immediately get into a striking exchange. Ibushi eventually drops Taichi with a series of strikes for a near fall, Taichi nails Ibushi with a head kick after Ibushi missed a charge into the corner. Ibushi misses a head kick attempt and Taichi nails him with a back drop driver, Taichi goes for the power bomb and Ibushi counters with a hurricarana. Ibushi follows up on that by nailing Taichi with a head kick, Taguchi tags in and Taichi immediately drops him. Douki tags in and he nails Taguchi with a corner clotheslines, Douki follows up by nailing Taguchi with a few kicks and a clothesline for a near fall. Douki nails Taguchi with a Widow’s Peak into a roll up for a near fall, Taguchi recovers and he catches Douki in a roll up for a near fall. Taguchi goes for a hip attack and Douki counters with an atomic drop, Tanahashi interferes and he hits Douki with a Twist & Shout. Taguchi then hits Douki with a front suplex and running hip attack for a near fall, Douki fights back and Taguchi nails him with a double underhook driver for a three count.

Winners: Hiroshi Tanahashi, Kota Ibushi & Ryusuke Taguchi

After the match, Suzuki-Gun jumps the victorious team and that sets off another brawl between both teams.

Toru Yano vs. Hiromu Takahashi

The match begins with Takahashi putting a helmet on so Yano can’t cut his hair, Yano grabs the hair clippers and Takahashi leaves the ring. Takahashi gets back in the ring and he gets the hair clippers to scare Yano off, Yano gets back in the ring and Takahashi stomps away on him. Yano finds another pair of hair clippers and the ref takes them from him, Takahashi attacks Yano and he lands a basement drop kick. Yano avoids a second drop kick and Takahashi drops him with a hurricarana, Yano leaves the ring and Takahashi follows him out there to throw him into the barricade. Yano recovers and he throws Takahashi into the barricade, Yano looks for the hair clippers and Takahashi attacks. Takahashi and Yano take their battle into the bleacher section of the building, Yano finds a pair of scissors and he tries cutting Takahashi’s hair with them. Yano chases Takahashi back into the ring before removing a turnbuckle pad, Takahashi avoids running into the exposed corner before nailing Yano with a thrust kick to the head. Takahashi goes for a sunset bomb and he winds up dragging Yano to the arena floor, Yano gets the scissors again before dropping Takahashi and stomping away on him. Yano then tapes Takahashi’s leg to Yota Tsuji’s leg before cutting some of Takahashi’s hair, Takahashi gets up with Tsuji still attached to him and he brawls with Yano in a backstage area. Takahashi tapes Yano’s eyes shut before trapping him in an elevator, Takahashi beats the count back into the ring with Tsuji still taped to him and Yano doesn’t.

Winner: Hiromu Takahashi, by count out

NJPW New Japan Cup ’20 Second Round Match
Kazuchika Okada vs. Yuji Nagata

The match begins with Okada and Nagata taking turns working over the others arm, Nagata takes Okada down with a headlock. Okada gets free and he gets into a striking exchange with Nagata, Nagata drops a charging Okada with a boot to the face. Nagata starts focusing his attack on the arm of Okada, Okada recovers to drop Nagata and land a basement drop kick. Okada drags Nagata out of the ring before throwing him into the barricade a few times, Okada gets Nagata back into the ring before landing a neck breaker on him. Okada traps Nagata in the corner next while landing a plethora of strikes on him, Nagata recovers and he nails Okada with a knee strike to the midsection. Okada gets up and Nagata attacks him with a series of kicks, Nagata follows up by nailing Okada with a running boot to the face. Okada fights back and Nagata nails him with a drop kick to the knee followed by an exploder suplex for a near fall, Okada fights back to hit Nagata with a flying elbow strike and a DDT for a near fall. Nagata gets up and he nails a charging Okada with an overhead release suplex, Okada and Nagata have a striking exchange in the middle of the ring. Okada ends the exchange by crushing Nagata with a shotgun drop kick, Okada follows up by nailing Nagata with a modified neck breaker for a near fall.

Okada then hits Nagata with a slam before going to the top rope, Nagata meets him up there and they exchange some strikes until Nagata drops Okada with a super exploder suplex for a near fall. Okada gets up and Nagata nails him with a series of kicks, Okada fights back and he nails Nagata with a pair of drop kicks. Okada follows up by nailing Nagata with a tombstone pile driver, Okada looks for the cobra clutch and Nagata counters with a cross face. Okada eventually gets to the ropes to break the submission attempt, Nagata looks for an exploder suplex and Okada counters to get him in the cobra clutch. Nagata gets free and he nails Okada with an exploder suplex, Okada and Nagata quickly get into another striking exchange. Okada goes for a spinning Rainmaker and Nagata counters with a back drop driver for a near fall, Nagata looks for another suplex and he winds up nailing Okada with an enziguri. Okada somehow catches Nagata in another cobra clutch and Nagata taps after a long struggle.
