Ring of Honor TV (3/9/2023) Results: Samoa Joe Returns to ROH, Eddie Kingston, Athena, More Compete.

Ring of Honor presented the second episode of their new era on Thursday, March 9, 2023, and it aired on ROH Honor Club.

ROH TV Champion Samoa Joe competed in his first ROH TV match since 2015, defending his title against Tony Deppen. Meanwhile, ROH Women's Champion Athena faced Willow Nightingale for the title. Elsewhere in the card, Eddie Kingston competed in his first ROH TV match since 2014, facing Ben Dejo. Full results & highlights for the show are listed below.

  • ROH TV Championship Match: Samoa Joe (c) def. Tony Deppen.
    • Samoa Joe cut a promo after the match, declaring that he needed contenders before calling out anyone from the back. The challenge was answered by Mark Briscoe, who challenged him to a match. Joe said that any day he gets to exchange punches with a Briscoe is a good day to him before he accepted the challenge.
  • Dalton Castle & The Boys cut a promo ahead of their match, saying that they have been moving furniture more than ever before challenging The Embassy for the ROH 6-Man Tag Championships ahead of their match.
  • Dalton Castle & The Boys (Brandon Tate & Brent Tate) def. Marcus Cross & C4 (Cody Chhun & Guillermo Rosas).
  • The Kingdom (Maria Kanellis-Bennett, Matt Taven & Mike Bennett) cut a promo backstage before they stated that they want to get their revenge on Top Flight (Dante & Darius Martin) for costing them their return to ROH on Final Battle 2023.
  • LFI (RUSH & Dralistico) (w/ Jose The Assistant) def. SAP (Serpentico & Angelico) (w/ Luther).
  • Trish Adora def. Billie Starkz.
  • Christopher Daniels was interviewed backstage by Lexy Nair, with Daniels saying that he was aiming for the ROH Tag Team Championships, though said that he would have contacted Frankie Kazarian if he was still in AEW/ROH. Daniels revealed that he would reunite with Matt Sydal, saying that they would team up next week.
  • The Trustbusters (Ari Daivari & Slim J) (w/ "Smart" Mark Sterling)def. Jake Crist & "Man Scout" Jake Manning.
    • Daivari spoke after the match saying that he beat Metalik fair & square. Metalik came to the ring in response, but the Trustbusters attacked him. Blake Christian came to the ring with a chair to make the save.
  • ROH Pure Championship Match: Wheeler Yuta (c) def. Timothy Thatcher.
    • After the match, Wheeler Yuta talked trash about NJPW's LA Dojo for thinking they had achieved something, but Yuta was confronted by NJPW's Clark Connors, who challenged Yuta to a match. Yuta slammed left through the ramp before accepting Connors's challenge.
  • Aussie Open (Mark Davis & Kyle Fletcher) def. The Foundation (Rhett Titus & Tracy Williams).
  • Eddie Kingston vs. Ben Dejo.
    • Eddie Kingston called out ROH World Heavyweight Champion Claudio Castagnoli after the match. Castagnoli walked to the ramp as Kingston challenged. Castagnoli for the title, but Castagonli told him that a man without honor would never be champion.
  • Lexy Nair tried to talk with Claudio Castagnoli, but he walked out of the arena. Eddie Kingston chased Claudio to the back before Lexy Nair told Kingston that he walked away.
  • ROH Women’s Championship Match: Athena (c) def. Willow Nightingale.
