Good evening Fight Fans, and welcome to our coverage of tonight's go home edition of NXT before Takeover: XXX this Saturday!

Johnny Gargano vs Ridge Holland

Johnny mocks Ridge before Ridge overpowers Johnny and drives Johnny down to his knees with a Greco-Roman knuckle lock. Ridge sends Johnny out of the ring with a shoulder block before giving pursuit. Ridge stalks Candice which allows Johnny to kick him from the apron before they end up back in the ring where Ridge comes back and whips Johnny into the corner. Ridge beats Johnny down before Johnny picks his ankle and takes Ridge down before locking in an ankle lock. Johnny then dodges Ridge who ends up going over the top rope and Johnny hits a suicide dive that sends Ridge backwards towards the ramp as we go to commercial.

We come back to Johnny in control of Ridge before Ridge spikes Johnny on his head when he goes for a powerslam. Johnny super kicks Ridge when the referee checks on him before Ridge counters One Final Beat. Ridge swings Johnny around and hits a powerslam for a near fall before they exchange forearms. Johnny counters a back breaker before Ridge knocks Johnny out of the ring with a shoulder tackle. Ridge gets distracted by Johnny momentarily before dropping him face first across the edge of the apron. Candice then grabs the ankle of Ridge which allows Johnny to low blow him behind the referee's back before Johnny finishes Ridge with One Final Beat for the win.

Winner: Johnny Gargano defeats Ridge Holland to gain entry into the ladder match.

Dakota Kai vs Jessi Kamea

Kai takes Jessi down before she gets back to her feet and Kai smashes her face into the top turnbuckle. Kai rocks Jessi with a forearm in the corner before hitting several running boots in the corner for two. Kai locks in a straight jacket before Kai misses a kick and Jessi rolls her up for two before dropping Kai with a kick. Jessi then hits a jumping clothesline in the corner before Kai hits the GTK for the pin and the win.

Winner: Dakota Kai defeats Jessi Kamea via pinfall.

- Kai cuts a promo on the NXT Women's champion Io Shirai before Io rushes the ring and attacks Kai who tries to run off, but Io chases her up the ramp. Raquel Gonzalez then comes out of nowhere and drops Io with a boot before bringing her back into the ring. Io then drops Kai with a forearm when she starts mocking her before Raquel drops Io from behind. Raquel then powerbombs Io before celebrating with Kai before they leave up the ramp.

- Backstage Tegan Nox is interviewed about recent comments that Candice LeRae made about her. Tegan says that she was surprised about what Candice said about her considering that the two used to be friends. Tegan then says that she's ready to talk things out with Candice before leaving as we go back to commercial

- We get a video package featuring promos by Finn Bälor and Velveteen Dream ahead of their last chance qualifier later tonight.

Legado Del Fantasma vs Breezango & Isaiah Scott

Fandango starts things off with Raul in the ring before Breezango double up on Wilde and hit him with a double super kick with him draped over the top rope. Breezango then drop Wilde and Mendoza with super kicks at ringside after Isaiah super kicks Santos when he goes for a suicide as we go to commercial.

We come back to Fandango in the ring with Wilde before Wilde sends him off of the top and across the top rope before he falls down onto the floor. LDF triple team Fandango for two before Raul stomps Fandango and locks in a straight armbar. Fandango makes his way up to his feet before Raul drops him right back down and focuses on the now injured arm of Fandango. Fandango gets the hot tag to Isaiah after sending LDF out of the ring and Scott goes right after Escobar. Isaiah hits a jumping flat liner before driving Escobar with the JML Driver and Wilde and Raul send him out of the ring when Isaiah doesn't realize that Tyler tagged himself in. Tyler then takes out Raul and Joaquin before Santos hits the Phantom Driver to Tyler for the pin and the win.

Winner: Legado Del Fantasma defeat Breezango and Isaiah Scott via pinfall.

- We go outside to see Pat McAfee and three other men making their way into the arena for his face to face with Adam Cole as we go to commercial.

- We come back to the announcement of a triple threat tag team championship number one contenders match added to Saturday's card for Takeover:XXX.

- Undisputed Era and Pat and his friends make their way out to the ring before it's just Adam and Pat in the ring. Pat reminds Adam of his attack on him two weeks ago, saying that despite all of Adam's accolades he knocked Adam out in a minute. Pat says that he's made millions in seven different professions before saying that he's going to leave Adam unconscious at Takeover. Pat then tells Adam that he is above him in every way before throwing his mic at him. Security back Adam off before Adam takes them out and the rest of UE and Pat's friends face off. Adam then gets in Pat's face and tells him that he's going to make him his bitch at Takeover before UE pose at ringside.

- A graphic is shown for a women's tag match between the Robert Stone Brand and Rhea Ripley and Shotzi Blackheart up next as we go to commercial.

The Robert Stone Brand vs Rhea Ripley & Shotzi Blackheart

Rhea and Mercedes immediately brawl before Aliyah tries to come in and Rhea tosses her across the ring before Shotzi gets the tag. Shotzi hits Aliyah with an inverted cannonball into a face buster before hitting a jumping leg drop. Aliyah gets two off of a jack knife cover before Mercedes comes in and drops Shotzi. Mercedes then puts Shotzi in a rear chin lock as we go to commercial.

Shotzi gets two off of a sunset flip before Aliyah hits a neck breaker and Mercedes comes in and drops her with a boot. Mercedes tries to cheap shot Rhea, but misses before Rhea tries to enter the match and the referee stops her. Mercedes chokes Shotzi in the ropes and beats her down in a neutral corner before dragging her to her corner. Aliyah and Mercedes double up on Shotzi before Mercedes locks in an abdominal stretch and follows up with a butterfly suplex for two. Shotzi counters a fisherman's suplex into an inside cradle before hitting Mercedes with a DDT. Rhea enters the match once more and clotheslines Aliyah before hitting her with knees in a cravat. Rhea dropkicks Aliyah before hitting her with the Riptide for a near fall that Mercedes breaks up.  Rhea then powerbombs Mercedes over the barricade and onto the floor before Shotzi hits a high angle diving senton to Aliyah for the pin and the win.

Winner: Shotzi Blackheart and Rhea Ripley defeat the Robert Stone Brand via pinfall.

- We get a graphic for the second of two last chance qualifier matches between Velveteen Dream and Finn Bälor in tonight's main event.

- We then get a graphic for an extended look at the bitter rivalry between the NXT champion Keith Lee and Karrion Kross ahead of their title match at Takeover: XXX up next as we go to commercial.

- We come back to an extended video package for the feud between NXT champion Keith Lee and the challenger for his title at Takeover: XXX Karrion Kross.

- We get a breakdown of the full card for Takeover: XXX before we head back to the ring for tonight's main event between Finn Bälor and The Velveteen Dream.

Finn Bälor vs The Velveteen Dream

Finn takes Dream down with a side headlock take over before Dream turns it into a pinning predicament for two to get free. Dream then slides out of the ring to regroup after Finn drops him as we go to commercial.

Finn is in control as we come back to the action in the ring before Dream momentarily comes back only for Finn to kick out the leg of Dream and dropping him several times. Finn focuses on the ankle of Dream, wrenching it and stomping it before Dream comes back with a jumping ax kick for two. They exchange strikes before Dream drops Finn with a right hand and hits mounted punches in the corner. Finn comes back with chops and stomps Dream in the corner before Dream snaps the throat of Finn across the top rope. Cameron Grimes then comes out to ringside to get a better look at his potential opponents in the ladder match as we go to commercial.

We come back to Dream in control of Finn while Grimes sits on top of a ladder he set up at ringside while holding the vacant North American title over his head. Finn crotches Dream on the top rope and stomps him before chopping Dream in the corner. Finn hits a running knife edge chop in the corner before Dream gets out of the ring. Finn climbs the ladder Grimes is on while having words with the North Carolinian before Dream pulls him down and drops him face first across the edge of the apron. Back in the ring Finn comes back with a sling blade and a shotgun dropkick in the corner before he climbs up top and gets distracted by Grimes. Dream capitalizes on the distraction and superplexes Finn before Grimes accidentally takes out the referee as Johnny Gargano comes down to ringside. Finn then takes out Cameron and hits Dream with a sling blade before Dream super kicks him and Bronson Reed comes down to ringside. Johnny gets into the ring to avoid Reed only to turn around and get hit by Damian Priest. Bronson clotheslines himself and Damian over the top rope before Finn clotheslines Dream over the top rope and hits a tope to Priest and Reed. Timothy Thatcher then comes out and attacks Finn before Dream hits Finn with the Dream Valley Driver and the Purple Rainmaker for the pin and the win.

Winner: Velveteen Dream defeats Finn Bälor to earn the final spot in the ladder match.

- After the match all of the competitors in the match on Saturday hit a move until it's Reed left standing with the title as we go off the air.
