WWE Raw 7/27/20 Results: Women's Title Match, Extreme Rules Match & Randy Orton Makes A Challenge

AEW Continental Classic 2024 Night Ten Recap

- Randy Orton makes his way to the ring to start the show, Orton talks about his success and history in the WWE. Orton says neither The Rock or Steve Austin cannot measure up to what he has accomplished in the WWE, Orton says something was missing and he desires to become the WWE Champion again. Orton says his resume is better than Drew McIntyre’s, Orton talks about McIntyre getting fired awhile back and then how he rose to become WWE Champion. Orton says McIntyre has a problem and that is that he has what Orton wants, Orton then challenges McIntyre to a WWE Championship Match at WWE Summerslam ‘20.

- Nia Jax makes her way to the ring next after Randy Orton leaves and Jax says she wants to be the Raw Women’s Champion, Jax talks about being screwed in past title matches. Jax talks about injuring Charlotte Flair and Shayna Baszler interrupts, Baszler says nobody cares about what Jax wants. Jax attacks Baszler and a brawl breaks out between the two until WWE officials break it up as we go to a commercial break.

- The Street Profits are in the ring and they talk about the upcoming Raw Tag Team Title #1 Contenders Match, both of The Street Profits act as ring announcers for the match.

Raw Tag Team Title #1 Contenders Match
The Viking Raiders (Erik & Ivar) vs. Ricochet & Cedric Alexander vs. Andrade & Angel Garza w/Zelina Vega

The match begins with Andrade and Garza attacking The Viking Raiders before the bell sounds, Garza and Andrade also knock Ricochet and Alexander out of the ring as we go to a commercial break. We return from the break to see Alexander holding Ivar in a headlock, Ivar gets free and Alexander nails him with a drop kick. Ivar quickly recovers and he nails Alexander with a shoulder tackle, Ricochet tags in and he double teams Ivar with Alexander. Erik tags in and both teams have a face off before deciding to leave the ring to attack Andrade and Garza, Garza gets double teamed in the ring while Andrade is worked over on the arena floor. Erik slams Ivar on a downed Andrade, Andrade is tossed in the ring before getting double teamed by Ricochet and Alexander. The Viking Raiders hit Garza with a German suplex/springboard clothesline combination, Andrade returns and he attacks Erik from behind. Ricochet and Andrade work together to double team Erik, Ricochet drops Erik and he gets a near fall on him before Andrade intervenes to attack him. Ivar returns and he attacks Andrade with some strikes and an exploder suplex, Ivar then hits a downed Andrade with a splash. Andrade fights back and Ivar nails him with a seated senton, Garza nails Ivar with a super kick before battling Erik.

Erik knocks Garza into the corner with a double knee strike as we go to a commercial break, we return from the break to see Andrade and Garza working over The Viking Raiders on the arena floor. Andrade and Garza then send Ivar into the barricade, Alexander returns and he gets sent into the barricade by Garza. Andrade gets in the ring and he nails Erik with a double knee strike for a near fall, Garza tags in and Ricochet gets a tag as well. Ricochet quickly gains control on Garza before nailing him with a head kick and springboard clothesline, Ricochet then hits Garza with a standing shooting star press for a near fall. Alexander tags in as Garza nails Ricochet with a super kick, everybody from both teams hit the ring and they all take each other out. Erik looks for a suicide dive and Garza kicks him in the face, Ivar goes to the top rope and he takes a bunch of people out with a dive. Andrade gets Alexander in the ring and Garza nails him with a Wing Clipper for a three count.

Winners: Andrade & Angel Garza w/Zelina Vega

After the match, Angel Garza and Andrade attack The Street Profits.

- Nia Jax is shown backstage talking to referee John Cone.

Nia Jax vs. Shayna Baszler

The match begins with Jax and Baszler getting into a striking exchange, Jax ends the exchange by knocking Baszler out of the ring. Jax sends Baszler into the barricade a few times, Baszler and Jax continue brawling until both are counted out.

Match Result: Double Count Out

After the match, Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler continue brawling as security tries breaking it up, Baszler and Jax start attacking the security team. Baszler tries getting back in the ring and Jax knocks her to the arena floor.

- A video package airs highlighting the feud between Rey Mysterio and Seth Rollins.

- Seth Rollins is backstage with Murphy and Rollins wants to know if he is with him, Rollins says Dominik Mysterio will show up tonight because he can’t seem to get out of his own way.

- Mark Henry is shown talking to Ruby Riott & Bianca Belair backstage.

- Seth Rollins and Murphy make their way to the ring, Rollins talks about his victory over Rey Mysterio at WWE Extreme Rules and Aleister Black on WWE Raw. Rollins says he isn’t in a great mood tonight because Dominik Mysterio is at Raw tonight, Rollins says somebody has been hurt everytime somebody has stood in his way. Rollins says he doesn’t want to be the person who hurts people, Rollins says he doesn’t want any violence tonight. Dominik makes his way onto the stage and he makes his way to the ring before getting in it, Rollins says he is here for Dominik and is willing to give him guidance. Dominik attacks Rollins and Murphy before quickly getting overwhelmed, Murphy and Rollins continue attacking Dominik as the brawl spills to the arena floor. Murphy and Rollins throw Dominik into the barricade a few times before sending him into the announce table, Black comes from out of nowhere to help Dominik and he gets overwhelmed. Rollins and Murphy then toss Black into the barricade a few times, Rollins nails Black with The Stomp on the arena floor. Rollins wants Murphy to destroy Black’s eye and Murphy goes to do it after some convincing from Rollins, Murphy does to Black what Rollins did to Mysterio on the corner of the ring steps. Dominik returns and he attacks Rollins and Murphy with a kendo stick until they run backstage.

- Mustafa Ali is approached by R-Truth backstage, R-Truth wonders if Ali is going after the 24/7 Championship and Ali says he has a match with Bobby Lashley tonight.

- MVP is in the ring with Shelton Benjamin & Bobby Lashley for another edition of the VIP Lounge, MVP talks about his celebration last week getting ruined by Mustafa Ali. MVP then brings out Ali as his guest on the VIP Lounge, MVP says Ali making some wrong decisions could lead to trouble with The Hurt Business. Ali says he is happy to be back and to become a real champion on WWE Raw, Ali claims that MVP has brainwashed Lashley and Benjamin. MVP threatens Ali and Ali still says he will not join The Hurt Business, R-Truth comes out of nowhere to attack Benjamin in an attempt to get the 24/7 Championship and we go to a commercial break.

Mustafa Ali vs. Bobby Lashley w/MVP & Shelton Benjamin

The match begins with Lashley shoving Ali across the ring, Ali gets up and Lashley quickly lays him out with a clothesline. Lashley again tosses Ali clear across the ring, Lashley then hits a cornered Ali with a corner spear before standing on his head. Lashley keeps Ali trapped in the corner while landing a plethora of strikes, Lashley follows up on that by nailing Ali with a flapjack. Lashley sets up for a suplex before cornering Ali and choking him, Lashley then nails Ali with a delayed vertical suplex. Akira Tozawa comes out of nowhere and he tries pinning Benjamin, MVP and Benjamin destroy Tozawa and his ninjas. Lashley joins in and he attacks a ninja as well, Ali comes from out of nowhere to hit Lashley with a suicide dive as we go to a commercial break. We return from the break to see Lashley working over Ali in the ring, Ali fights back and Lashley knocks him to the arena floor. Lashley leaves the ring as well and he sends Ali into the ring post before sending him into the barricade, Lashley gets Ali back into the ring to get a near fall on a pin attempt. Lashley keeps Ali down while holding him in a nerve hold, Ali gets free and Lashley nails him with an elevated flat liner for a near fall.

Lashley looks for a press slam and Ali escapes before eating a boot to the midsection, Lashley then goes for a Dominator and Ali escapes to land a tornado DDT. Ali goes to the top rope and Lashley avoids the 450 splash, Lashley gets Ali in the full nelson and a tap out follows.

Winner: Bobby Lashley w/MVP & Shelton Benjamin

- Charly Caruso interviews Dolph Ziggler, who says he doesn’t know what the stipulation is for his match with Drew McIntyre.

- Highlights are shown of what went down between Asuka and Sasha Banks at WWE Extreme Rules ‘20 and the following night on WWE Raw.

- Sasha Banks and Bayley get the microphone before the next match, Banks calls Stephanie McMahon a bully who is jealous of the Golden Role Models. Bayley and Banks say they run the whole company, Bayley and Banks say they did everything they said they were going to do.

Raw Women’s Championship
Asuka w/Kairi Sane vs. Sasha Banks w/Bayley

The match begins with Sane chasing Bayley backstage before the bell sounded and we go to a commercial break, we return from the break to see Banks nail Asuka with a back elbow strike. Banks and Asuka then exchange a few drop kicks, Asuka corners Banks before landing a hip attack and multiple kicks. Asuka drops Banks again before kicking her in the back, Banks eats a few more kicks and a knee strike from Asuka for a near fall. Banks fights back and Asuka recovers while catching her in an arm bar, Banks gets to the ropes to break the submission hold. Asuka misses a charge in the corner and Banks lands a rope assisted dragon screw leg whip, Banks then traps Asuka in the ropes before landing a back stabber for a near fall. Banks keeps Asuka down while holding her in a single leg crab, Banks releases the hold before smashing Asuka’s knee on the mat. Asuka fights back and Banks leaves the ring, Banks grabs her title belts and she tries pulling the Eddie Guerrero and fails. Asuka then cracks Banks with a head kick as we go to a commercial break, we return from the break to see Asuka attacking Banks with a few strikes. Banks recovers to nail Asuka with a drop kick to the injured leg, Banks then DDT’s the injured leg of Asuka for a near fall.

Banks holds Asuka down while wrenching away on her leg, Asuka gets free and banks stomps away on her injured leg. Banks traps Asuka in the corner while choking her and wrenching away on her leg, Asuka fights back again and she nails Banks with a pop up knee strike. Banks gets to the ring apron and Asuka misses a hip attack, Banks trips Asuka up before attacking her injured leg. Banks gets back in the ring and she gets a near fall on a downed Asuka, banks keeps Asuka down while kicking away at her. Banks then lands a meteora on a downed Asuka for another near fall, Banks keeps Asuka down while applying a single leg crab to her. Asuka gets free and Banks attacks the injured knee, Asuka recovers and she nails a charging Banks with a back elbow strike. Asuka catches Banks in a flying knee bar next, Asuka transitions to an ankle lock on Banks and Banks gets free by sending her into the corner. Banks follows up by nailing Asuka with a running double knee strike, Banks goes to the middle rope and Asuka lands a code breaker on her when she leaps off. Asuka gets up and she attacks Banks with a plethora of strikes, Banks goes to the middle rope and Asuka kicks her legs out. Asuka reapplies the ankle lock before nailing Banks with a release German suplex, Asuka then hits Banks with a hip attack for the near fall.

Asuka grabs Banks and she gets her on the top rope, Asuka follows Banks up there and banks knocks her to the mat below. Banks then hits Asuka with a top rope frog splash for a near fall, Bank gets Asuka in the Bank Statement and Asuka gets free before getting sent out of the ring. Banks misses a baseball slide drop kick and they battle on the arena floor, Banks drops Asuka knee first on the announce table. Banks gets back in the ring and Asuka gets back in as well a short time later, Banks trash talks Asuka and Asuka goes for a roll up. Banks quickly counters and she gets Asuka in the Bank Statement, Asuka gets free and she gets Banks in an ankle lock. Banks gets free and Asuka nails her with a missile drop kick, Bayley and Sane are shown brawling on the big screen. Asuka then hits Banks with a release German suplex, Asuka looks for the Asuka Lock and Asuka gets distracted watching the footage. Asuka heads backstage and gets counted out.

Winner: Sasha Banks by count out, your new Raw Women’s Champion

- Charly Caruso is outside the trainers room saying Kairi Sane is being treated for her injuries, Bayley and Sasha Banks come by and celebrate. Asuka comes out of the trainers room and she is angry, saying a bunch of stuff in Japanese.

- A video package airs on the late Regis Philbin.

Murphy vs. Humberto Carrillo

The match begins with Murphy attacking Carrillo and landing a ton of strikes, Murphy keeps Carrillo cornered while landing chops. Carrillo fights back and he lands some strikes of his own, Carrillo then hits Murphy with a springboard back elbow strike. Carrillo corners Murphy again before stomping away on him, Carrillo knocks Murphy out of the ring before landing a suicide dive. Carrillo gets Murphy back in the ring and he goes to the top rope, Murphy knocks Carrillo off the ropes and into the barricade. Murphy gets Carrillo back into the ring before landing a knee strike for a near fall, Murphy attacks Carrillo some more before applying a chin lock to him. Carrillo fights back and Murphy crotches him on the top rope, Carrillo gets down and he nails a charging Murphy with a super kick. Carrillo and Murphy exchange strikes until Carrillo drops Murphy with an enziguri, Carrillo lands another enziguri before landing a missile drop kick for a near fall. Carrillo goes to the top rope and Murphy rolls to the ring apron, Carrillo goes to the ring apron and he nails Murphy with a pump kick. Murphy gets back in the ring and Carrillo goes back to the top rope, Murphy nails a leaping Carrillo with a knee strike and Murphy’s Law for a three count.

Winner: Murphy

- Highlights are shown of Drew McIntyre vs. Dolph Ziggler from WWE Extreme Rules ‘20.

- Mark Henry and Drew McIntyre are shown talking backstage.

- WWE Champion Drew McIntyre comes to the ring and he gets a microphone, McIntyre says he wants to address what was said earlier tonight by Randy Orton. McIntyre says he will face Orton for the WWE Championship at WWE Summerslam ‘20, McIntyre says he hopes Orton underestimates him when they meet at WWE Summerslam ‘20. Dolph Ziggler interrupts and makes his way to the ring, Ziggler wants to know the stipulation for their match and McIntyre says they will meet in an Extreme Rules Match.

Extreme Rules Match
Drew McIntyre vs. Dolph Ziggler

The match begins with Ziggler punching McIntyre before leaving the ring to grab a steel chair, McIntyre gets the chair and Ziggler nails him with a super kick. Ziggler then sends McIntyre into the ring post and barricade, McIntyre fights back and he attacks Ziggler with a few strikes before sending him into the ring post. McIntyre picks up Ziggler and he throws him into the barricade again, McIntyre grabs a kendo stick and he attacks Ziggler with it. McIntyre uses a side Russian leg sweep to send Ziggler back into the barricade, McIntyre then sends Ziggler and the kendo stick into the ring post. McIntyre follows it up by getting Ziggler into the ring, McIntyre grabs some chairs and he sends them all into the ring. McIntyre gets a table into the ring and he sets it up in the corner, McIntyre grabs a steel chair and he attacks Ziggler with it. Ziggler fights back and he nails a swinging McIntyre with a low blow, McIntyre leaves the ring and Ziggler follows him out there before attacking him with a kendo stick. Ziggler then sends McIntyre into the barricade with his own side Russian leg sweep, McIntyre fights back and he attacks Ziggler with the kendo stick. McIntyre catches a leaping Ziggler and he puts him through the barricade as we go to a commercial break, we return from the break to see Ziggler nail McIntyre with another low blow as they got back in the ring.

McIntyre recovers and he nails Ziggler with several overhead release suplexes, McIntyre goes to the top rope and he lands a clothesline on Ziggler. McIntyre goes for the Future Shock DDT and Ziggler counters with a fame asser, Ziggler goes to the top rope and McIntyre attacks him with strikes before meeting him up there. McIntyre then nails Ziggler with a superplex, McIntyre goes for the Claymore Kick and Ziggler counters with a Zig Zag for a near fall. McIntyre recovers and he puts Ziggler through a table with a Claymore Kick for a three count.

Winner: Drew McIntyre

After the match, Randy Orton hits Drew McIntyre with an RKO.
