WWE RAW Results (9/12/22): Two Title Matches, Johnny Gargano Debuts, Edge vs. Dominik Mysterio

We will be bringing you the full results of tonight's episode of Monday Night Raw. On tonight's episode, Edge looks to beat some respect into Dominik Mysterio, Bianca Belair will defend her WWE Raw Women's Championship in an open challenge, and Damage CTRL’s Dakota Kai and IYO SKY look to capitalize on their second opportunity to become Tag Team Champions. Also, Johnny Gargano will wrestle for the first time as a member of the Monday Night Raw roster.

  • WWE Raw Women’s Championship Open Challenge: Bianca Belair (c) vs. TBD
  • WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship: Raquel Rodriguez & Aliyah (c) vs. Dakota Kai & IYO SKY
  • Edge vs. Dominik Mysterio
  • Johnny Gargano's return to action

- The show starts with Seth Rollins heading to the ring and saying he has no interest in a rematch with Matt Riddle. Instead, he's more concerned about how long it's been since he has held championship gold. Riddle comes down and they begin to brawl all over the arena.

- Riddle chases him off. Out come The Judgment Day. Priest offers Matt Riddle the chance to join them. Riddle says he is too focused on Seth Rollins and the answer is no. this leads to a confrontation which leads to a match between Finn Balor and Matt Riddle.

Matt Riddle vs. Finn Balor

Rey Mysterio would come out to neutralize the interference of Damian Priest. Matt Riddle hits the Bro to Sleep, but Finn Balor kicks out. Balor avoids being hit with The Floating Bro. Riddle is able to avoid being hit with the Coup de Grace. Matt Riddle is able to hit Randy Orton's DDT and goes for an RKO before being distracted by Seth Rollins, leading to a Finn Balor victory with the Coup de Grace. Afterward, Seth Rollins Stomps Riddle and tells him to move on.

Winner: Finn Balor by pinfall

- Dominik Mysterio explains why it was time for him to leave his father's Shadow and it is shown that Rhea Ripley is seemingly telling him what to say, whispering in his ear before he tells the world that he is a man now.

- Austin Theory tells the world that Johnny Gargano will be facing Chad Gable tonight. Chad Gable tells the world that Johnny Gargano will forever be known as Johnny Shoooooooooooosh.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship: Raquel Rodriguez & Aliyah (c) vs. Dakota Kai & IYO SKY

Aliyah tries to get the victory with a Slingshot Face Buster but Bayley puts Dakota Kai’s foot on the ropes. Aliyah Knox Bailey to the ground with a drop kick and Raquel Rodriguez tries to attack her on the floor but IYO SKY takes out Rodriguez with a moonsault to the outside, allowing Kai to hit the Kairopractor on Aliyah for the win.

Winners and new Women's Tag Team Champions: Damage CTRL’s IYO SKY and Dakota Kai by pinfall.

- Backstage, Rey Mysterio begs his son to call off his match with Edge. Dominik Mysterio never acknowledges his father but Rhea Ripley comes by and does the talking for him.

Johnny Gargano vs. Chad Gable

A very good competitive match-up. Johnny Gargano tries to get the victory with the Gargano Escape. Chad Gable tries to get the victory with the ankle lock and the Chaos Theory German Suplex but Gargano blocks the suplex by trying to go for a roll-up victory. Eventually, Johnny gets the victory with the One Final Beat DDT.

Winner: Johnny Gargano by pinfall.

- After the match, Johnny Gargano avoids the attacks of Otis and walks his way back up the ramp before being nailed by Austin Theory and the Money in the Bank briefcase.

- Theory tries to cut a promo but gets interrupted by Kevin Owens who cuts a very impassioned promo about how guys such as himself and Johnny Gargano have managed to survive in WWE, while people like Austin Theory are a dime a dozen. They wind up brawling and being pulled apart by security. Austin Theory comes away with an apparent broken nose. Kevin Owens tells him that's just the beginning.

WWE Raw Women’s Championship Open Challenge: Bianca Belair (c) vs. Sonya Deville

Bianca Belair comes out for her open challenge championship defense. The challenge is answered by Sonya Deville. Deville says she hasn't forgotten the way that Bianca got her removed from her position as WWE Official.

Bianca was able to counter a head and arm choke are utilizing the ropes to get up and over Sonya Deville putting her in position for the KOD, which would bring her the victory and the successful title defense.

Winner and still champion: Bianca Belair by pinfall.

- After the match, Bayley says she will have a match with Bianca when the time is right. Damage CTRL then surrounds the ring. Bianca tries to fight them all off but is eventually helped Alexa Bliss and Asuka. The babyfaces eventually get the numbers advantage and Bianca is able to hit a spinebuster on Bayley

- Omos will be in action next.

Omos (w/ MVP) vs. Ryan Toombs and Khash Marazi

Omos dominates both men in a quick squash match. Omos hits both with a Chokebomb and stacks them for the pin.

Winner: Omos by pinfall.

Backstage, Seth Rollins once again reiterated that he was done with Riddle and called himself the face of Monday Night Raw. Bobby Lashley entered the scene and was offended by this saying that as long as he has the United States Championship, he is the face of the show. Now, they will face next week for the WWE United States Championship.

The Miz briefly did an interview from his home once again refusing to speak about Dexter Lumis. As the Mizanin family was leaving their home, Lumis was shown to be inside the house, with a drawing of the family.

Edge vs. Dominik Mysterio (w/ Rhea Ripley)

The bulk of the match was dominated by Edge but Dominic was able to get an advantage by attacking the leg of Edge. Eventually, Edge got Dominik Mysterio tied up in the ropes, and continued attacking him endlessly until Rey Mysterio came out to stop him from further damaging his son. Edge tried to push Rey Mysterio off of him but this led to the rest of Judgment Day coming out and attacking both men. the show would go off the air with Judgment Day further damaging the leg of Edge and gloating about their accomplishment.

Winner: Edge by disqualification.
