Good evening Fight Fans and welcome to our coverage of tonight's edition of WWE Smackdown! Live!
-We open the show with a recap of last night's match between Bobby Lashley and Braun Strowman where Braun speared Bobby through the LED board. Kevin Owens comes out to the ring for the Kevin Owens Show before introducing his guests Drew McIntyre and Shane McMahon. Kevin cuts to a video of Drew and Shane in the ring last night on RAW before lightning struck and The Undertaker came out to the ring, Drew and Shane quickly exiting the ring before Undertaker explains why he teamed up with Roman. Shane says that he's not afraid of The Undertaker, saying that he's on a hot streak and makes their match no holes barred. Kevin replays the part of the video where Drew and Shane got out of the ring when The Undertaker came down to the ring, commenting on the look on Shane's face. Dolph Ziggler comes out to the ring and Kevin screams at him to get over not being champion before Dolph talks about why he deserves to be champion.
Dolph and Kevin insult each other they ask Shane who gets the next title shot, Shane saying that neither of them will get a shot before saying that if they team up and beat Heavy Machinery tonight, then they'll be put in the Smackdown! Tag Team Championship Match at Extreme Rules.
-Daniel Bryan is interviewed before his match against Big-E up next as we go to commercial.
Daniel Bryan vs Big-E
They lock up before Daniel tries to knock E over until E locks in an abdominal stretch and drops Daniel with a shoulder tackle. E turns Daniel inside out with a lariat before Daniel rolls out of the ring as we go to commercial.
Daniel kicks E in the corner as we return to the action before hitting a basement dropkick and slaps E several times before he comes back with several overhead suplexes. Daniel kicks E in the chest several times before E hits another suplex into a splash for a two count, Daniel rolling put onto the apron before E misses a suicide dive. E catches Daniel going for a dive of his own before Rowan sends E into the ring post and tosses him back into the ring. Daniel then hits a running knee for the pin and the win.
Winner: Daniel Bryan defeats Big-E via pinfall with a running knee.
-R-Truth is interviewed backstage before we see footage of him losing the 24/7 Championship to Drake Maverick last night. We then cut to Alexa Bliss talking to Nikki Cross before Alexa gives Nikki permission to host A Moment of Bliss as we go to commercial.
-Nikki comes out onto the stage and introduces her guest Bayley before Nikki thanks Bayley and Bayley says that she doesn't have to do Alexa's bidding. Nikki asks Bayley why she called Alexa a liar, Bayley saying that she is a liar and says that Nikki deserves a title shot more than Alexa does. Nikki then challenges Bayley to a title match which she accepts before Nikki runs down to the ring and Bayley follows her as we go to commercial.
WWE Smackdown! Women's Championship Match
Bayley (c) vs Nikki Cross
Bayley immediately hits a running dropkick for a quick two count before she hits Nikki in mount and whips her into the corner before locking in a stock submission. Nikki comes back with a jawbreaker and jumps on Bayley's back before tossing her out of the ring and hitting a wrecking ball dropkick. Nikki hits a diving cross body and a running splash in the corner into a bulldog before Bayley gets a near fall off of a back slide and Bayley slams her from the top turnbuckle. Bayley then hits Bayley to Belly for the pin and the win.
Winner: Bayley retains her Smackdown! Women's Championship by defeating Nikki Cross via pinfall with Bayley to Belly.
-We get a taped promo from Ali where he talks about changing people's minds. We then cut to the ring where Kofi Kingston and Samoa Joe make their way down to the ring for an interview. Joe talks about the opportunities New Day have had before Kofi says that he's defended his belt without any help and brings up Joe losing the United States Championship to Ricochet. Kofi says that Joe is jealous of him and starts a "Jealous Joe" chant before Joe challenges Kofi to shake his hand, guaranteeing him and New Day safety until their match at Extreme Rules. Kofi then flips Joe off before hitting Trouble in Paradise and standing over Joe with the WWE Championship before leaving.
-We go backstage to Heavy Machinery being interviewed about their number one contender match against Dolph Ziggler and Kevin Owens.
Apollo Crews vs Andrade
They exchange strikes before Andrade hits running knees in the corner for a near fall before Apollo hits a pop-up slam and clotheslines Andrade out of the ring before hitting a moonsault off of the apron. Apollo then rolls Andrade back into the ring for a two count as we go to commercial.
Apollo rocks Andrade with a knee and hits a dropkick before Andrade catches him with a boot and Apollo hits a slam into a standing moonsault for a near fall. Andrade nearly knocks Apollo out with a back elbow before Apollo catches Andrade when he goes for a suicide dive. Zelina then hits a huricanrrana off of the apron before Andrade hits the hammer lock DDT for the pin and the win.
Winner: Andrade defeats Apollo Crews via pinfall with a hammer lock DDT.
-We get a promo by Aleister Black in the darkness.
Ember Moon vs Mandy Rose w/Sonya Deville
Ember drops Mandy with a right hand and Mandy counters a wheel kick into an inverted suplex for a quick two count. Mandy whips Ember into the corner and drops her with a running knee for a near fall before locking in a straight jacket. Ember then gets to her feet and Mandy drops her with a forearm before Ember hits an MX and The Eclipse for the pin and the win.
Winner: Ember Moon defeats Mandy Rose via pinfall with the Eclipse.
-We cut backstage to Shelton Benjamin being asked who will win the WWE Championship at Extreme Rules, but he just looks around and smiles before leaving as we go to commercial.
Smackdown! Tag Team Championship Number One Contender Match
Heavy Machinery vs Dolph Ziggler & Kevin Owens
Before the match the Smackdown! Tag Team champions as well as New Day join on commentary. Dolph and Otis get the match started off by grappling, Otis taking Dolph down several times before Dolph dropkicks him. Otis hits a running splash in the corner and Kevin drags Dolph out of the ring before New Day attack Daniel and Rowan at ringside. Rowan then hits a claw slam through an announce table to Xavier as we go to commercial.
Tucker and Kevin are in as we return from the break, Tucker hitting Kevin with a lariat before locking in a headlock before dropkicking Kevin for a quick two count. Dolph sends Tucker through the ropes and into the barricade before tossing him back into the ring for a quick two count. Kevin stomps Tucker and hits a standing splash for a quick two count before Dolph hits a neckbreaker and Kevin a running senton for a two count. Dolph drives Tucker into the corner and Kevin comes in before Tucker hits a diving cross body and tags in Otis. Otis drops Dolph with a clothesline before headbutting him and hitting a spinning slam before hitting a fall away slam for a near fall. Dolph rolls out onto the apron before hitting a DDT and tags in Kevin, Kevin superkicking Otis before Otis sends him out of the ring. Otis then counters a Zigzag before hitting the caterpillar, Dolph accidentally superkicking Kevin before Heavy Machinery hit the Compactor for the pin and the win.
Winner: Heavy Machinery defeat Kevin Owens and Dolph Ziggler via pinfall when they pin Kevin with the Compactor to gain entry to the Smackdown! Tag Team Championship Match at Extreme Rules.
-Kevin then lays Dolph out after the match as we go off the air.
