Rey Mysterio Jr Discusses Working For AAA, WWE, Aro Lucha, And NJPW

Rey Mysterio Jr says he's "running wild" as an independent wrestler.

In an interview on The Jim Ross Report, Rey Mysterio Jr was asked about his recent match at Verano De Escandalo and the reports of AAA reserving a date at Madison Square Garden. Since Mysterio has worked for AAA and WWE recently combined with the fact WWE has almost exclusively ran shows at the venue, Mysterio has been put in unique position. But Mysterio said he will continue to do "his own thing" and work at the promotions who make him the best offers.

"I'm still involved with Aro Lucha; I'm a part stock owner with that company. I'm still running wild. I'm kind of doing my own thing just like I have been for the last three years. Opportunities seem to come my way. If I feel that it's something I can take advantage of and move forward with it, I run with it. I head out tomorrow for Dominion New Japan on Saturday," said Mysterio.

The former World Champion has been open to the idea of doing something bigger with WWE but Mysterio said he has to keep taking any viable offers until WWE comes to him with something.
