Ricky Starks Talks William Regal's Departure From AEW, Says That He Was Sad To See Him Leave

Ricky Starks get candid about the latest departure from All Elite Wrestling.

Although top stars such as Swerve Strickland, Keith Lee, Toni Storm, and Athena have all bolstered the AEW roster in 2022, the company has also suffered from quite a few departures. Earlier this year, one of the company's founders, Cody Rhodes, left AEW alongside his wife, Brandi Rhodes. Following that, names such as Joey Janela and Alan Angels also departed the promotion. Most notably, AEW World Champion CM Punk is also likely finished with the company following the aftermath of Brawl Out.

The latest departure from All Elite Wrestling was revealed earlier this month, as Tony Khan confirmed that he would be letting William Regal out of his AEW contract to return to WWE. In a new interview with Inside The Ropes, Ricky Starks commented on the company's latest departure.

“I do miss Regal because...no one knows this but Regal knew me when I first started back in like early 2012 up until this point. I have known of him, kept in contact. He has seen my potential, he has seen my growth. It was great to see him when he showed up at the pay-per-view this past March or whatever. I was sad to see him leave, for sure. But yanno, that’s just how it goes in this business sadly. But he was another guy that I would kind of ask and talk to cause I just had that relationship built with him already."

Plenty of other AEW talent, including Claudio Castagnoli, have echoed the same sentiment as Starks.

Recently, Starks also discussed CM Punk's departure from AEW, where he noted that he wished he had gotten a opportunity to have a match with Punk. To learn more, click here.
