Rob Van Dam shares his thoughts on potentially facing Will Ospreay.
Will Ospreay officially joined AEW in February and defeated Konosuke Takeshita at AEW Revolution. He then beat Kyle Fletcher on the March 6 episode of AEW Dynamite. Fans continue to buzz about potential dream matches for Ospreay. Some fans want to see him face Rob Van Dam, as both stars are considered trailblazers in the wrestling world. Rob Van Dam has wrestled for AEW multiple times, so the match is seemingly a possibility.
Speaking on 1 of a Kind with RVD, the WWE Hall of Famer was asked about potentially facing Will Ospreay, given his arrival in AEW.
“Yeah, I see that quite often as a request that fans say that they would really want to see. I think that we’re both pioneers from different time periods. I brought in a lot of stuff and still back in the day that has become the style, and I think he’s done the same thing, showing us stuff that takes it to a next level in that direction. So I get it, that would be cool. Is it possible? I guess so.... I don’t know, I’ve heard that a lot, the Will Ospreay [match]," Rob Van Dam.
Rob Van Dam is currently advertised for the AEW Collision/Rampage taping on April 20. Otherwise, it is not known when he will return to AEW.
Will Ospreay recently said that Ric Flair praised him backstage at AEW Revolution. Check out his comments here.
