Rocky Romero: Sending A Young Lion To AEW/ROH Would Be Cool, It Would Help Them Gain Experience

Rocky Romero thinks sending Young Lions to AEW could be beneficial.

NJPW uses a Young Lion system with its young wrestlers, who are sent on excursions to other companies so they can gain experience. Given NJPW's working relationship with All Elite Wrestling, and by extension Ring of Honor, some fans have wondered whether the Young Lions could make their way to either company at some point.

In an interview with WrestlePurists, Romero was asked about the idea of potentially sending Young Lions to AEW.

"I think that would be cool. What's cool about AEW's setup is -- yeah, sending a Young Lion to the Ring of Honor show and starting them there. Building them up [to] Rampage, Collision, Dynamite. That could be cool and kind of give them that experience," Romero said.

Romero was also asked to name current Young Lions that are standing out. Romero highlighted Kosei Fujita and shared his thoughts in NJPW's future as he pointed to Yuya Uemura, Shota Umino and Ren Narita as some bright young stars.

"[Kosei] Fujita is a great standout, I mean, honestly, there's so many. [Ryohei] Oiwa is a great standout. I'm excited for this next batch of Young Lions to actually go out into the world and kind of see what happens because, obviously, the ones that just came back; Yuya [Uemura], Ren Narita, Shota [Umino], Shota vs. [Will] Ospreay was insane the other night. I think that New Japan's next generation is firing on all cylinders. I'm not even worried about the future at all. I think that we've really been blessed with a great batch of young guys," he said.
