Roman Reigns surpasses another milestone as he passes 500 days of his current run with the WWE Championship.
Currently, Roman Reigns' run as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion signifies the lineage of the WWE Championship and the WWE Universal Championship. Although a singular championship belt was recently created for Roman, the lineages of both championships continue separately, and Roman Reigns recently surpassed 500 days as WWE Champion.
Roman has held the WWE Championship since WrestleMania 38 on Sunday. On that night, he defeated Brock Lesnar, the last person to have defended the WWE Championship as its own title.
Roman Reigns has only defended the title four times at Premium Live Events this year. He has defeated Cody Rhodes, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, and most recently Jey Uso to continue on as the most dominant champion of his era.
While it is not known what will happen to the lineages of the WWE and Universal Championships should the day ever come that Roman Reigns loses these belts, the Monday Night Raw brand recently instated a new World Heavyweight Championship, won and currently held by Seth Rollins, so that both brands have a top prize to fight for.
Roman Reigns continues to break records overall with his 1000-plus-day reign as WWE Universal Champion and Paul Heyman, Roman's manager for this historic run, recently said that his story is only in its third inning. Read more here.
A source recently told Fightful that Roman Reigns will lose these championships whenever he and Paul Heyman deem it time. Learn more here.
