The infidelity storyline between Lana, Rusev, and Bobby Lashley has been going on since the end of September with more twists and turns than a rollercoaster. The storyline has seen arrests, restraining orders, weddings, new lovers, and more revealed on-screen over the last four months.
And through it all, behind the scenes, Rusev could not be happier with how things have played out and the job Lana and Lashley have done.
"It's no different than Brad Pitt or what any other actor does in Hollywood. You're an actor and a certain role requires you to do something like that. You can always say no, but we're not those people. We're always professional. I don't think it's a problem at all, for me, personally. I know it's not a problem for [Lana]. It's always about her. People always run to me and ask me, 'How you feeling?' Why are you asking me? Go ask her. She's the one who has to kiss [Lashley]. I'm not kissing a guy. Kudos to her for being professional. If she didn't agree to it, we would have done something different. But here we are, a few months in, the hottest angle in WWE," Rusev told Reel Talker.
When asked about Lashley, Rusev commented, "Bobby is very respectful and a great guy. He's game for anything and is not like a stubborn veteran who thinks he knows everything. It's very cool to see. He's a really good dude."
As far as Lashley's mentality goes, Rusev stated that Lashley, who has competed in MMA, is always looking for a fight. But Rusev wanted to make sure that they got the story across before they eventually came to blows.
"He has the mentality of a fighter. He always wants to fight. I'm like, 'Dude, calm down. It's not about fighting. We're gonna fight, but let's tell the story of why we fight.' That's the problem with the stories in different organizations, they all want to fight. But nobody knows what they're fighting for. This is real emotion. People relate to it. That's why they love it or hate it so much. It's so real," he said.
