Samoa Joe praises Sting.
Samoa Joe and Sting have a long history together as friends and enemies on television during their time together in TNA Wrestling.
The two men are together again in AEW, and though they aren't working on-screen, they are focal points of AEW Revolution as Samoa Joe is the reigning AEW World Champion and Sting is set to have his last match.
Appearing on AEW Unrestricted, Samoa Joe commented on Sting's last match.
"When you talk about Sting and the wonderful relationship I've had with him throughout my career. He's been a nemesis, a friend, a tag team partner. He's been the man who has won a championship from me. He's been so many things throughout my life and my career. One of the biggest things is that he's been a sage voice, and in chaotic times, he's been somebody that has been able to speak a little calmness into a very bad situation and help a young up-and-coming pro wrestler out. Of the many things he's been to me in my career, those are definitely a few examples off the top of my head. For an illustrious career as he's had, a quarter of that career I can only wish on to my most favorite person. Sting has definitely left an indelible impression on the industry. So much has been influenced by him, his style, what he's done, what he's represented in the ring. To see him finish up his career in AEW, it's bittersweet, it's a little sad, but no one deserves a send off of the highest magnitude as the Stinger does," he said.
Joe and Sting last shared a ring together in 2013 as teammates in the Main Event Mafia.
Samoa Joe will defend his AEW World Title against Hangman Page and Swerve Strick at AEW Revolution.
Meanwhile, Sting will team with Darby Allin to defend the AEW Tag Team Titles against The Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson & Nicholas Jackson).
