Samoa Joe is always down for beating up John Cena, but he has his eye on another future Hall of Famer for a potential dream match.
When asked on the Notsam Wrestling Podcast with Sam Roberts whether he would like to wrestle Cena or Randy Orton, Joe wanted the man he doesn't have an 18 year history with.
"I look at them both equally as opportunities. I lean slightly towards Orton more because I've never stepped in the ring with him and faced him. But I'd be more than happy to beat up Cena, far more than AJ (Styles)."
Joe continued, "I have dream circumstances. Something like; I'd love to wrestle John Cena with his parents in the front row so they can cry as I beat him up. Dream matches; I'm kind of up for whatever."
The Samoan Submission Machine and Cena came up through Ultimate Pro Wrestling in the early-2000s. Cena went on to WWE superstardom while Joe made a name for himself in ROH and TNA.
On the subject of guys he hasn't faced before or newer wrestlers on the scene, Joe praised recent NXT signing Matt Riddle for how quickly he's come along.
"Matt Riddle, the stuff that he's doing is amazing. I know a lot of guys who have tried to make the transition from MMA to pro wrestling and have failed incredibly. Matt gets it. He's in it and he loves it. He's a definitely a guy that's on my radar that's doing awesome things out there."
Riddle left Riddle was in the audience at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn IV. He's scheduled to work his final Independent date on Sept. 30 at PROGRESS Chapter 76 before starting with NXT.
