The Sandman Doesn't Remember High-Fiving Michael Jordan After 1998 NBA Finals

Wrestling fans weren't surprised to see ESPN's "The Last Dance" cover Dennis Rodman skipping practice to appear on WCW Nitro.

But they were surprised by seeing The Sandman make a cameo appearance following the Chicago Bulls winning the 1998 NBA Championship. Sandman was in the hotel where the Bulls were staying and fans caught a glimpse of him high-fiving Michael Jordan as Jordan made his way through the crowd and into his hotel room.

The story wasn't known until ESPN's docu-series because, well, The Sandman didn't remember it even happened.

“I fucking forgot about it,” The Sandman told Pro Wrestling Sheet. "We’re driving down I-95. I’m not even thinking about fucking basketball at all. I didn’t even know the game was going on that day. So, driving down I-95 I see this fucking billboard saying the Jazz are playing Jordan. I have been to at least one-hundred-fifty to two-hundred concerts. Never used a ticket, always used scalpers. I go to the scalper and I’m like ‘dude, I need some tickets for this f*cking game, I don’t have cash.’ He says ‘no problem.’ I ended up following that guy. He ends up taking me to a hotel in Salt Lake City, don’t even know the name or anything, and they had this whole room set up.”

Sandman ended up purchasing 11 tickets for $175 each

After the game, Sandman headed to the hotel and waited three hours for the Bulls to arrive. And when they did, he touched greatness.

“I don’t remember that part at all, Jordan coming out of the fucking bus and high-fiving him. I swear to God, I don’t remember it. I haven’t told anybody that story! I can’t find a person I’ve told that story to, that I high-fived Jordan, because I fucking forgot,”

Sandman went on to say that he was freaking out when he saw himself in the docu-series on Sunday.

Now, the question is, does Michael Jordan remember high-fiving The Sandman?
