Scott Steiner gives his take on the AEW product.
For years now, AEW has presented fans with a product that is based around the in-ring aspect of professional wrestling as opposed to WWE's version of the product, which is normally more focused on storylines and characters. Some former wrestlers have voiced their displeasure with AEW's style of product, with some even claiming that the company's future success could be limited.
While speaking to Sportskeeda for a new interview, Scott Steiner was asked if he watches AEW.
"I try to watch some stuff sometimes. I don’t have a whole lot of time."
When asked to share his positive takes on the company, Steiner stated that it's great that the wrestlers have more places to work. Then, Steiner shifted focused and praised WWE before saying that nobody will give a shit if a company puts on matches without any storyline.
"It’s great for another place for the guys to work. Competition’s always good for the business. But there’s no doubt that WWE is hot right now. They got the fan interest. That’s what’s most important. The thing is, you just can’t have matches. Nobody gives a shit if they’re just matches with no storyline. You’re throwing two guys together…No, [it doesn’t work.]"
Elsewhere in the interview, Steiner claimed that Brad Siegel and other higher ups were responsible for the death of WCW. Learn more about those comments here.
In the same interview, Steiner also talked about Bron Breakker's run on the main roster. Learn more here.
