Seattle Dragons XFL Player Tests Positive For Coronavirus Following Season Suspension

Following the suspension of its 2020 season due to the Coronavirus outbreak, it has been confirmed that an XFL player has tested positive for COVID-19.

An unnamed player for the Seattle Dragons football team tested positive for the Coronavirus on Friday, shortly after the XFL announced it was suspending its season. This player played in the most recent two games for the Seattle team against the Houston Roughnecks and St. Louis BattleHawks.
In a statement released to USA Today, the XFL said it was monitoring the situation closely and taking Advanced precautions while listening to the recommendations set by the CDC.

“The league is alerting players, staff, vendors and partners associated with the Dragons, Roughnecks, and BattleHawks, as this player also participated in the February 29 game in St. Louis. The XFL is monitoring the situation closely and taking every measure necessary in accordance with recommendations set forth by the CDC.”

While the Coronavirus may have ended the XFL season, it is still yet to be determined what will happen with WrestleMania 36 in Tampa, Florida. WWE has begun filming TV events with no audience from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, but they have yet to make a decision regarding the April 5 extravaganza.
