Shane McMahon finally got tired of carrying The Miz.
At WWE Fastlane, Shane McMahon & The Miz challenged The Usos for the SmackDown Tag Team Titles. Miz was hoping to make his hometown and father proud by bringing home the gold once again and proving he wasn't the weak link of the team, but The Usos had other ideas. For the second straight pay-per-view, The Usos defeated The Best Tag Team in The World with the Miz eating the pinfall after foolishly following his father's advice.

After the bout, Miz looked for comfort from his father, who was sitting ringside. Papa Miz embraced his son and tag team partner, signifying that things were going to be okay. But Shane was not okay. As Miz was walking away, Shane attacked Miz from behind, beating him up in front of his father.
