Shawn Michaels has been promoted to a new role in WWE.
CBS Sports reports that he is now the senior vice president of talent development creative. Previously, a press release about the launch of NXT Europe in August named the WWE Hall of Famer as vice president of talent development creative. Michaels' long-time friend, Triple H, was named as the head of WWE creative on July 25. He was recently elevated to Chief Content Officer.
Michaels has been a leading figure with NXT in recent years, particularly since Triple H stepped away from his duties due to health issues in 2021. After this promotion, he will remain at the helm of NXT creative, and he will also oversee the development of talent within the brand. Additionally, he will lead the charge with NXT's expansion, including the launch of NXT Europe.
In a recent interview, Michaels commented on the creation of NXT Europe. You can check out his comments here. He also made it clear that, whether it's good or bad, the quality of NXT 2.0 is "on him."
