Shelton Benjamin compliments Charlie Dempsey.
WWE released Shelton Benjamin, who had been with the company for 20 years across two stints, in September 2023. During the last few months of his time with WWE, the former Intercontinental Champion worked some WWE Main Event tapings. He faced Charlie Dempsey on the March 20, 2023, taping.
During a Q&A at For The Love of Wrestling (via Monopoly Events), William Regal came up in the conversation, and Benjamin was asked whether he had met his son, Charlie Dempsey.
“Not only have I met him, I actually wrestled him a couple months ago [on Main Event]. He’s great. I worked with Charlie Dempsey, some of the other newer guys like Damon Kemp. Dempsey, he’s great. He’s gonna be so good," Benjamin.
Dempsey is now the reigning NXT Heritage Cup Champion, and he is a member of No Quarter Catch Crew.
Fightful Select recently reported that AEW has had contact with Shelton Benjamin, and they have discussed possible appearances.
