Shingo Takagi believes that his match with Bryan Danielson is a true dream match.
Bryan Danielson and Shingo Takagi are going to meet one-on-one in the Owen Hart Cup Tournament and their match will take place at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. They have met once before in 2010 when Daniel Bryan was briefly fired by WWE and Bryan Danielson was allowed one final stint on the independent circuit before returning to WWE at WWE SummerSlam 2010.
Speaking about his upcoming match with Danielson to Justin Barasso of Sports Illustrated, Takagi says that he believes this is the culmination of everything they have both accomplished in their careers and believes it to be a true dream match scenario for fans worldwide.
“If the fans are happy, then I’m happy,” said Takagi. “I think this is the result and a recognition of all that Bryan has accomplished in his career, and all I’ve done in my career. I like that this will be on display worldwide. The whole world will see true ‘Made in Japan’ spirit.
“It’s a real dream match, a real dream situation for the fans worldwide,” added Takagi. “This is something that will send shockwaves through the wrestling world.”
