Sonya Deville Explains Why She Makes A Good Pairing With Adam Pearce

After losing a "Loser Leaves WWE" match to Mandy Rose at SummerSlam 2020, Sonya Deville disappeared from television for the rest of the year.

She would return at the start of 2021, taking her place as Adam Pearce's assistant. Quickly, Deville would become a WWE official herself with the authority to make her own decisions.

Speaking to Ryan Satin on Out of Character, Deville discussed her relationship with Pearce.

"It's cool to have like a Yin to the Yang and it's cool to have him with this role. I've known Adam since like the day I started in NXT. He was a coach down at the Performance Center. So we've been through a lot together. I've had him as my producer, and then to be able to work with him on-camera has been really cool," she said. "We both have strong energy. So I feel like when we go to work on-camera, we both turn it on and it kind of gives that organic sense of competition. It's been really nice to have someone to play off of and to kind of play into the different ways you could go with an authority figure, you know? He leans more this way sometimes, I lean more that way, and then sometimes, we're on the same page. So it's definitely cool to have the diversity amongst us."

Deville remains an authority figure in WWE, but has returned to the ring recently, teaming with Charlotte Flair and opposing Ronda Rousey.

Elsewhere during the interview, Deville discussed her return to the ring and relationship with Vince McMahon. You can find her full comments by clicking here.
