Darby Allin Wins Royal Rampage, Earns AEW World Title Shot Match At AEW Grand Slam On 7/26 AEW Rampage

A world title match is set for AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam.

The July 26th episode of AEW Rampage featured a Royal Rampage match where the winner would earn a world title shot at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam on September 25th. In the end, Darby Allin won the Royal Rampage match. He last eliminated Claudio Castagnoli to win the bout and earn a shot at the AEW World Championship at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam.

In the closing minutes, Hangman Page ran in and attacked Jeff Jarrett, leading to his elimination. The match came down to Allin, Castagnoli, and Brian Cage. Castagnoi eliminated Cage. Allin and Castagnoli went back and forth. Allin then eliminated Castagnoli with a Coffin Drop across the ropes.

Orange Cassidy, Brody King, Komander, Brian Cage, Tomohiro Ishii, The Butcher, Roderick Strong, Matt Menard, Brandon Cutler, Kyle O'Reilly, Jeff Jarrett, Matt Taven, Jay Lethal, Kip Sabian, Mike Bennett, Nick Wayne, and Lio Rush also competed in the Royal Rampage.

Allin is also set to challenge Jack Perry for the TNT Championship at AEW All In, as the bout was agreed to during the Blood & Guts match on the July 24th episode of AEW Dynamite. However, it has not been confirmed as of this writing.

Allin previously won the Royal Rampage in 2023, and he went on to challenge for the TNT Championship at AEW All Out.

As of this writing, Swerve Strickland is the reigning AEW World Champion. He is set to defend the title against Bryan Danielson at AEW All In. Allin will presumably challenge the winner of that match at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam.
