Steve Maclin Wins IMPACT World Title At IMPACT Rebellion, Gets Confronted By Nick Aldis

Steve Maclin has won the gold.

At IMPACT Rebellion, Maclin was scheduled to challenge Josh Alexander for the IMPACT World Championship. But when Alexander suffered a torn triceps, he was forced to relinquish the title. As a result, Maclin instead faced KUSHIDA in a match for the vacant IMPACT World Championship at IMPACT Rebellion.

Wade Barrett: Transition To Commentary Has Given Me A Different Appreciation For WWE Creative Team

Before the two competitors made their entrances, former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis joined the commentary team and announced that he was back in IMPACT. At the pay-per-view, the two stars battled it out. KUSHIDA targeted Maclin's arm throughout the bout. In the end, Maclin clinched the win with the KIA.

After the bell, Maclin called out IMPACT President Scott D'Amore and demanded for him to present him with the championship. Maclin then laid D'Amore out with an attack, and Aldis got into the ring. He stared down the new champion, and they exchanged some heated words before Maclin left the ring and posed with the title.
