Taichi Wins NEVER Openweight Title From Hirooki Goto At Destruction In Beppu

Taichi captured his first singles title in NJPW when he defeated Hirooki Goto to become the NEVER Openweight Champion at Destruction in Beppu.

Kanemaru interferes again and Goto quickly takes care of him, El Desparado interferes next and Goto knocks him out of the ring. Chaos members come out to battle Kanemaru and Desparado, Goto hits Taichi with a modified neck breaker followed by the falling suplex. Goto follows that up with a kick to the upper body followed by a headbutt, Goto then hits Taichi with a reverse GTR for a near fall. Takashi Iizuka interferes and that Taichi to hit Goto with a low blow for a near fall, Taichi hits Goto with a last ride power bomb for another near fall. Taichi follows that up with an air raid crash for the three count.

Taichi now begins his first reign as NEVER Openweight Champion. Goto held the title for 92 days, the shortest of his three reigns as champion.
