Taya Valkyrie is the new Knockouts Champion after defeating Tessa Blanchard on Sunday night at IMPACT Wrestling's Homecoming.
The bout was a back-and-forth affair that saw special guest referee Gail Kim get involved. Blanchard took out Kim with a spear and hit the Buzzsaw DDT on Taya, but Kim was unable to make the count.
Feeling she had won the match, Blanchard grabbed the Knockouts Title, but Kim tried to take it back. In the midst of their tug-of-war, Kim accidentally struck Valkyrie with the belt. Valkyrie survived the pinfall, which only served to anger Blanchard. Tessa and Kim continued to get into it before a fed-up Kim hit Eat Defeat on Blanchard. Valkyrie followed up with the Road To Valhalla for the win.
